Lala Kent Reveals Ariana Madix Told Her to ‘Toughen the F**k Up’ While Grieving her Father’s Death!

Lala Kent recently opened up about the emotional turmoil she faced during season seven of Vanderpump Rules after the death of her father, revealing that her co-star Ariana Madix was less than supportive during her time of grief.

According to Lala, Ariana told Scheana Shay that Lala needed to “toughen the f**k up” while she was mourning, a comment that Lala says was never followed by a sincere apology.

During a recent episode of her Give Them Lala podcast, Lala recounted the difficult time, sharing how the loss of her father deeply affected her and how she struggled with the lack of empathy from some of her castmates.

“The first interview that I do [in season seven], they have me talk about my dad passing away … and I start sobbing and say, ‘It’s so weird to say that,’” Lala recalled. “I watch those things, it takes me back to such a heavy place.”

Lala also addressed the backlash she faced last season for questioning Ariana’s actions after her then-boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, was caught cheating. Lala hinted that Ariana was being put on a pedestal by fans, despite her previous lack of support during Lala’s own personal crisis.

“There’s a point during all of that — which is another reason why I think this past season 11, where everyone was so taken aback [like], ‘How dare I have these questions for Ariana after she suffered her heartbreak?’ I’m like, I vividly remember me spiraling from the death of my dad, something that she knows very well, and her saying to Scheana that I needed to toughen the f**k up,” Lala shared.

Reflecting on Ariana’s behavior, Lala questioned the double standard. “So how is it that I can’t ask questions about someone being cheated on, but when I lost my dad — someone who I adored — I need to toughen the f**k up?” she asked.

“And during that [season’s] reunion, and maybe it’s lost on me, I don’t ever remember getting an ‘I’m so sorry I should have never said that.’ I got a merry-go-round of f**king excuses of why she said that.”

Lala’s frustrations with Ariana didn’t end there. Earlier this month, in an interview, Kent expressed her anger over Madix’s refusal to film with Tom Sandoval during the season finale, suggesting that Ariana’s decision negatively impacted the show’s success, which is crucial to Lala’s livelihood.

“I’ve always been a pretty intense person and I’ve always been protective, but the moment you have a kid? You turn into a warrior,” said Lala, who is now pregnant with her second child.

“Anyone who comes in and tries to threaten the wellbeing of your children and how you provide for them is not going to be taken kindly. I stand by what I said at that reunion. I was deeply offended because no one was going to come in and take food off of my table. I’m a mama bear and anyone who doesn’t understand that? Not my problem.”

While Vanderpump Rules is currently on hiatus, rumors are swirling that Lala and Scheana Shay may be involved in filming for a spinoff series, The Valley, in some capacity.
