Emily Simpson Claims Katie Ginella Becomes Less Credible as the Season Progresses
Emily Simpson is offering her unfiltered perspective on the drama unfolding between Heather Dubrow and Katie Ginella on The Real Housewives of Orange County.
In a recent conversation with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Emily addressed the tense exchange from Season 18, Episode 4, where Katie accused Heather of orchestrating paparazzi photos with her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow.
Emily described Katie’s accusations as plausible, particularly noting Katie’s use of a paparazzi contact who allegedly confirmed the claims.
“When Katie first told me — when she told me, she’s very compelling,” Simpson said. “She speaks very calmly, she speaks very intelligently, and she has this [paparazzi] contact.”
Despite finding the allegations believable, Emily maintained that her opinion of Dubrow remained unchanged. “First of all, let me just say, I don’t care whether she does or not,” Emily stated about the possibility of Heather arranging paparazzi photos.
“It doesn’t make me think any differently about Heather, if she does or if she doesn’t. You know what? If she does, it makes sense to me. She lives in LA, her husband’s famous, she’s famous. If they do, I’m like, ‘OK, well maybe that works for you. That’s for your brand. That makes sense for you,’” she states.
Emily added, “Clearly, I’m not calling the paparazzi. They’re not interested in me… But [the Dubrows] have a very glamorous life in LA so that makes sense to me.”
While acknowledging the plausibility of the paparazzi story, Emily revealed that her trust in Katie had diminished over time. She hinted that more details would be unveiled in upcoming episodes.
“As the season progresses, I feel like Katie just becomes less and less credible,” Emily said. “So then I go back and think, ‘Well, maybe when she initially told me [about Heather’s alleged paparazzi calls] there wasn’t a lot of credibility there.’”
Emily also discussed advice she gave to Katie before her confrontation with Heather. In the controversial episode, Katie presented a text from her paparazzi contact, who seemingly verified the rumors with a brief “Yes.”
Emily critiqued the evidence, saying, “When she showed me that screenshot, I was like, is it compelling? Yes. Is it clear and convincing? Absolutely not. So I said to her… I was like, ‘Look, you have to get your ducks in a row. This [screenshot] isn’t a lot.’”
Heather Dubrow addressed the controversy on the August 1 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she continued to refute Katie’s claims of staged photos.
When asked by host Andy Cohen if Katie had provided “convincing evidence,” Heather responded: “From some rando named Mark when I swore on the lives of my children? Yeah, no.”
