Teresa Giudice Defends Luis Ruelas’ Controversial Comment About Margaret Josephs’ Son!

Teresa Giudice has firmly supported her husband Luis Ruelas in the wake of controversy surrounding a comment he made about Margaret Josephs’ son.

During the Season 14 non reunion special of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which was recorded with cast members separated due to ongoing tensions, Giudice stood by Ruelas after he faced criticism for his remark.

The incident occurred when the cast viewed a clip from the reunion, leading Josephs to express her shock. “I had to make the sign of the cross,” Margaret, 57, remarked. “That’s disgusting.”

Dolores Catania, 53, also weighed in, predicting that Luis, 49, would face significant backlash for his statement. In response, Teresa, 52, responded, “I don’t care.”

She emphasized her support by stating, “Listen, my kids suffered! My stepson suffered. My daughters suffered.” Teresa further advised Dolores not to defend Margaret when she criticized Louis’ comment as “wrong.”

Teresa urged her fellow cast members to move on from the issue, asserting, “He was upset. People make mistakes. I know he did not mean to say that. I’ll make sure he says sorry.” Luis did, in fact, issue an apology via Instagram Story two days following the episode’s air date on August 4.

“The finale was very tough for me to watch,” he wrote. “I was disappointed in my actions in bringing up Margaret Josephs’ son.”

“I know better than to bring up someone’s child and it is something I deeply regret,” Ruelas continued. “I do want to apologize and acknowledge that I was wrong.”

Margaret has yet to publicly address Louis’ apology.

Melissa Gorga, Teresa’s estranged sister-in-law, labeled Louis’ comment as “one of the lowest lows” she has witnessed in her 14 seasons on the Bravo series.

The reunion special deviates from tradition, airing as a unique episode rather than the usual format. This unconventional approach follows Andy Cohen’s recent remarks about potentially revamping the cast with “fresh faces,” although he noted that no decisions have been finalized.

“I was just riffing,” Andy said last month. “We are going to reimagine the show in some way.”

Cohen also addressed Ruelas’ controversy on Tuesday’s episode of the “Garbage World” podcast, describing the situation as “dark.”
