Olympian Gabby Thomas is turning heads both on and off the track as she dates a stunning Ivy League-educated white man who has quickly become a notable figure in his own right.
When it comes to the 200 meters, few can rival USA’s Gabby Thomas. The 27-year-old sprinter, who clinched a bronze medal in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, has become a formidable presence on the track. He was also a standout baseball player, excelling as an outfielder.
At Yale, Spencer McManes joined the football team but had limited playtime. Despite this, he graduated in 2017 with a degree in Political Science and Government. Following graduation, McManes worked at the MyChrystal Group in Alexandria, Virginia, before relocating to Austin, Texas. In August 2023, he took on a new role as a Senior Customer Success Manager at DataGrail, a data privacy software company.
In addition to his professional achievements, McManes has pursued various interests, including rugby and entrepreneurship. He founded Kaviva, a non-alcoholic kava seltzer brand, in the summer of 2022. According to Kaviva’s website, McManes created the brand to offer a “hangover-free buzz” and an elevated drinking experience without the adverse effects of alcohol.

However, it appears the couple began dating around October 2022 when Gabby moved to Austin to pursue her Master’s Degree in epidemiology at the University of Texas and to train with renowned coach Tonja Buford-Bailey. Both Gabby and McManes share a background in sports and a connection to Georgia — Gabby was born in Atlanta and lived there until 2007 when her family relocated to Massachusetts.
