Kyle Richards Opens Up About Her Friendship with Dorit Kemsley, Claims They Had ‘A Lot of Things to Work Through’
In her August 5 Amazon Live session, Kyle Richards addressed the current state of her relationship with Dorit Kemsley, following their recent public appearance together after a prolonged rift.
The tension between the two stars has been a major storyline since Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
When a viewer inquired if Kyle was still close with Dorit, Kyle responded with a hint of optimism, saying, “We had a lot of things to work through, so, stay tuned.”
The recent sighting of Kyle and Dorit was initially believed to be a celebration of Lisa Rinna’s birthday. However, Kyle clarified, “I had dinner with Lisa Rinna, Erika [Jayne], and Dorit because it was all three of their birthdays. I saw paparazzi pictures and they said it was Lisa’s birthday [but] it was actually all three of their birthdays.”
Kyle also mentioned that the group was set to celebrate Teddi Mellencamp’s birthday as well—“[They’re] all Cancers,” she noted—but Teddi was unable to attend due to illness.
Following the birthday celebrations, Richards and Kemsley were spotted again at Sutton Stracke’s fashion show for her Sutton Brands Green Label Capsule Collection.
In a touching Instagram post, Kyle wished Dorit a happy birthday along with Erika, Lisa, and Teddi, sharing a nostalgic photo from a helicopter ride in France on RHOBH Season 9 Episode 19.
In a May 15 Amazon Live stream, Kyle expressed sympathy for Dorit’s ongoing issues with her husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley. “I feel bad for them,” Kyle said. “Going through that is difficult enough without everybody wanting to know all the details. So, I feel terribly for them.”
Kyle reiterated her desire to support Dorit in a May 30 session, stating, “I have hope to eventually be able to be there for her. That would be nice, [but] right now we have things, obviously, to work through.”
She elaborated on the strained dynamic in a June 30 interview with Us Weekly, noting, “The dynamics have shifted tremendously this year,” and lamented that their mutual support has been lacking during their respective marital struggles.
