Cardi B’s Friends Reveal They Want Her to Follow Through with Divorcing Offset!

Cardi B’s friends are rallying around her as she navigates a significant life transition.

The rapper, 31, made headlines on August 1 by announcing she is expecting her third child, just one day after filing for divorce from Offset, 32.

The couple, who have been married since September 2017, share daughter Kulture Kiari, 6, and son Wave Set, 2.

The couple’s relationship has been marked by ups and downs, with Cardi first filing for divorce in September 2020 before reconciling shortly after. According to a representative for the “WAP” rapper, this latest divorce filing is not a reaction to infidelity rumors but rather a decision that has been in the works for some time.

A friend of the Love & Hip Hop: New York alum exclusively tells PEOPLE, “It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, she woke up one day, some incident happened, and this was it.’ She’s been very calm about everything, and she’s focused on her kids. She is excited about this new baby, and she’s recording, so everything with her is actually pretty good.”

The source adds that although Cardi and Offset have faced challenges for “at least a year or so,” their separation appears to be “amicable,” and Cardi’s friends are simply hoping she finds happiness. “We’ve seen them break up, get back together, break up, get back together, and it’s like we just want her to stick to her decision and just enjoy her f—ing life,” they say.

“You’re so successful. You’ve come so far in your career, just enjoy your life,” the source adds.

As for the “Drip” rapper’s forthcoming album, which follows her Grammy-winning debut Invasion of Privacy, the source confirms it is “coming at some point this year” with Cardi “finishing up recording right now.”

They assure fans that her personal situation is not affecting her music career, noting, “She’s been in the studio every night.”

In her pregnancy announcement on Instagram, Cardi expressed gratitude for her “new beginning” alongside photos of her growing belly.

“You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion,” she wrote.

“I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and tests laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through,” Cardi states.
