Andy Cohen is setting the record straight on the recent buzz about a potential reboot of The Real Housewives of New Jersey —a topic he himself sparked. On the July 24 episode of his SiriusXM show, “Radio Andy,” the Bravo executive took a moment to clarify his earlier comments, which had fans and social media abuzz.

“I was just riffing,” Andy, 56, admitted on air. “We are going to reimagine the show in some way, and I was just like, ‘Yeah, we’re rebooting. … Who knows? Maybe it’ll be all fresh faces.’”

He added that his remarks were more about the mood of the moment rather than any concrete plans. “I was … not definitively saying it’s going to be all fresh faces,” Cohen elaborated, expressing his surprise at the speculation that had arisen from his offhand comments.

The speculation about a major cast overhaul started when Andy suggested that “big changes” might be on the horizon for the show’s 15th season. This led to rampant discussions and conjectures about a complete reboot, which Cohen has now downplayed.

He emphasized that his comments were not meant to be taken as definitive plans and that “nothing has been decided.”

Social media reaction to Cohen’s comments has been mixed. Some users criticized the back-and-forth nature of the discussion, calling Andy’s clarification “messy” and expressing frustration over the ongoing speculation.

One social media user even urged Andy to “shut up” in response to the confusion.

Earlier in the month, Cohen had hinted at a possible “rebrand” of the show, suggesting that “we’re gonna figure something out.” This comment added fuel to the fire of speculation about significant changes to the cast.

Currently, the show features a mix of familiar faces including Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Jennifer Aydin, Margaret Josephs, Dolores Catania, Danielle Cabral, and Rachel Fuda, along with “friends” Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Fessler.

In June, Andy had expressed enthusiasm about the potential for the show’s evolution, telling E! News, “I think there are several different ways we can go with it. We get to figure it out as a team and see what we do.”

Notably, the Season 14 reunion, which has yet to air, deviated from tradition by separating the cast into two distinct groups for filming.

In response to the ongoing speculation, Melissa, who has had a strained relationship with Teresa, shared her excitement for “some type of change” on Page Six.

Meanwhile, Giudice voiced her desire to remain on the show during an appearance on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast, quipping, “Bravo, I hope you’re listening.”

As fans and cast members await further developments, it seems the future of RHONJ remains very much up in the air.
