In a pointed TikTok video posted on the holiday, the 57-year-old Georgia native addressed her followers:

“Hi queens and kings, I just wanna ask a question. How can a Nigerian, and a bunch of ‘em, celebrate my country’s July the 4th on my visa?”

The video, seemingly filmed from an airport, was a response to Michael, 35, sharing moments of his first U.S. Independence Day on Instagram Stories, including a barbecue gathering and festive posts from fans.

Michael had recently moved to Georgia in December 2023 to be with Angela after a lengthy period of long-distance relationship due to visa issues. Their journey is currently unfolding on “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?” season 8.

Upon their arrival in the U.S., Angela urged Michael to embrace his new homeland, saying, “We’re in the U.S.A. You’re in the f–king U.S.A. Let’s see some patriotism, now you’re Nigerian-American.”

Reflecting on their tumultuous journey together since meeting on “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” in 2018, Michael expressed gratitude for Angela’s patience during the visa process. “We’ve been through a lot, you know. And I appreciate my wife, you know, for her strong patience,” he shared in a confessional.

However, their relationship has been fraught with challenges, with Angela voicing concerns that Michael’s intentions might have been solely for securing a visa. “I think we need a break right now. You know, I didn’t get married for a long time for a reason – and this is why,” she revealed during an episode.

Michael, in turn, defended himself against accusations of marrying solely for a visa, stating, “All she thinks about is that I’m after the visa – no.”

Their marital tensions were further highlighted when Michael briefly disappeared two months after arriving in the U.S., prompting speculation about their relationship status. He later returned to social media without his wedding ring, suggesting a rift with Angela. His subsequent post, captioned “Why Are You Still Single?” added fuel to ongoing speculation about the couple’s future.
