Bethenny Frankel Opens Up About Tough Week as Ex-Fiance Paul Bernon Dates Aurora Culpo
Bethenny Frankel took to social media this Fourth of July to reflect on what she described as a particularly tough week, contrasting sharply with the festive celebrations around her.
From the tranquility of her Hamptons home, the former Real Housewives of New York City star shared her struggles in a candid TikTok video.
Filmed while reclining in bed with her dog, Frankel likened her recent hardships to significant personal losses, though with a touch of her characteristic frankness.
“My mother dying when I was at a low was like a 1, maybe this was like a 3,” she disclosed, revealing the depth of her recent emotional turmoil. “I didn’t sleep all week.”
While her 14-year-old daughter, Brynn, enjoyed traditional Fourth of July festivities at a friend’s house, Bethenny admitted to feeling out of sync with the celebratory mood.
Opting for honesty over facade, she quipped, “I’m not pretending to be livin’ la vida loca,” referencing Ricky Martin’s iconic song. Instead, she coined, “I’m livin’ la vida no-ca.”
Frankel promised to share more details on her weekly podcast, teasing, “I’m trying not to bust out. I’ll explain it all later. Really, really s—t on a cracker.”
The video concluded with a glimpse of her bedside margarita as she wished her followers a happy Fourth of July, a stark reminder of her attempt to find solace amid personal challenges.
This public reflection comes in the wake of reports that her ex-fiancé, Paul Bernon, has begun a new relationship with Aurora Culpo, following their engagement’s end.
The revelation gained additional attention as the new couple was seen passionately kissing in Boston shortly before the high-profile wedding of Aurora’s sister, Olivia Culpo, to NFL star Christian McCaffrey.
The event stirred some family tension; Olivia explicitly stated on her podcast that she found it inappropriate for Aurora to bring Bernon to the wedding, citing that she had never met him: “[It’s] rude to invite somebody I’ve never met.”
Despite the brief duration of their relationship, Aurora has already introduced Bernon to her children and met his teenage kids, reflecting the seriousness of their connection.
“He’s met them twice and, like, on FaceTime and stuff,” Aurora shared, indicating the blending of their family lives early on. She also met his children during a doubles tennis match, describing them as “really nice,” and appreciating the maturity of Paul’s 17 and 14-year-old kids, which she finds reassuringly straightforward.
