Bethenny Frankel Claims She’s Not Wearing Her Engagement Ring from Ex-Fiance Paul Bernon: ‘This Is Ridiculous’
Bethenny Frankel is settig the record straight amid rumors about her jewelry choices following her split from ex-fiancé Paul Bernon.
The former Real Housewives of New York City star’s representative clarified to Page Six on Monday that she’s not sporting an engagement ring, despite speculation sparked by an Instagram post.
“It’s amazing how people assume things. She’s not wearing an engagement ring. She has a ton of jewelry. This is ridiculous,” the rep stated.
In the controversial post, Bethenny, 53, shared a photo of herself in a white one-piece swimsuit from her “happy place” in the Hamptons, captioned with “Suit yourself” and hashtags celebrating summer and weekends.
While fans admired her beach-ready look, some noticed a diamond on her left ring finger and questioned her relationship status.
This confusion comes months after Frankel and Bernon ended their three-year engagement in March.
Since their split, reports have surfaced that Paul, 45, is now romantically involved with Aurora Culpo, sister of beauty queen Olivia Culpo.
Sources told Us Weekly that the pair has been dating for over two months, with Bernon attending Olivia’s recent wedding alongside Aurora.
“Her family has met him and thinks he’s a really nice, ‘normal’ guy,” a source shared. “They have a lot in common with him being from Boston and Aurora from an area nearby. Aurora has been spending time in Boston with him recently.”
Paul, also a film producer, and Aurora reportedly hit it off after meeting online and through mutual friends. They were spotted together at various locations, including a social club in Boston and while cruising along the Rhode Island coast.
Regarding his past with Bethenny, insiders previously noted their differences in lifestyle, describing Bernon as an “under-the-radar kind of guy.” Despite their split, Paul had famously proposed with an emerald-shaped diamond ring valued at an estimated $1 million.
Bethenny Frankel and Paul Bernon’s relationship journey began with a digital spark back in 2018.
Reflecting on their meeting, Frankel shared with PEOPLE in April 2021, “We met on a dating app. I was pretty lucky when I walked in and saw him. He had a twinkle. He came as advertised — better than advertised. He overshot the mark.”
Their relationship saw its public ups and downs, notably confirmed by Bethenny herself during an October 2020 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she discussed their breakup openly.
“You know, not everything works out, and so many people have tried to define my life — our lives — with, ‘When are you getting engaged? When are you having a baby? When are you getting married?'” Frankel expressed. “And I’ve just realized more in life, with people being more open and honest about their lives and what they want, that everything doesn’t have to sort of end in a blue box and a bow. We’ve had a great, great relationship and I’m really happy. Not everything has to end badly. Some things just don’t continue and it’s not negative, it’s just life.”
The couple’s engagement, confirmed by PEOPLE in March 2021 but actually proposed a month earlier in February, was a private affair, which Bethenny cherished for its simplicity and intimacy.
“It felt like a strange thing to announce that just felt counterintuitive,” she explained later. “It was intimate. Just the two of us, on an island off of Florida. No makeup, no manicure, no ring photos. It was very simple and beautiful.”
Speaking further about their engagement to Extra, Frankel expressed her excitement, describing Bernon as “a good person who I love. I don’t know if it’s a yin to my yang, but he’s really relaxed, he’s mellow and he’s very, very funny.”
As speculation continues to swirl around Frankel’s personal life, her recent social media activity has only fueled curiosity about her post-engagement chapter.
