A Source Claims Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Aren’t Divorcing Any Time Soon
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are navigating their new reality one year after announcing their separation, focusing on balancing personal growth while maintaining a strong familial connection.
According to a source close to the couple, “Kyle and Mauricio are working on how to establish their individual lives while remaining connected as a family. After being in a routine for decades, they have had a lot to figure out while navigating their new normal. Going through a separation has been challenging enough that no one is rushing to get a divorce.”
The source emphasized that Richards, 55, and Umansky, 54, are approaching this phase with care, giving each other “as much love, space, and respect as possible” as they move forward.
This update coincides with the approaching one-year mark since Kyle and Mauricio publicly announced their separation in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage.
In a podcast appearance, Richards candidly discussed the adjustments, noting the surreal feeling of Umansky moving to West Hollywood.
“That was weird,” she admitted. “I always knew when that day came it would feel strange. Very real all of a sudden. And that’s exactly what happened.”
Reflecting on the change, Kyle described the initial quietude in their home post-separation, which highlighted the absence of the bustling household dynamic she had grown accustomed to.
She expressed how keenly she felt his absence, saying, “I’m a mom of four, I have a busy household. I’ve got six dogs right now. I’m used to having a lot of chaos and stuff going around at my house. The day that he moved out was just strange because I came home and I was like, ‘everything’s so quiet.’ I was like where is everybody, what’s going on? And it just sort of dawned on me.”
Mauricio offered insights into the timing of Umansky’s departure, noting both its practicality and sensitivity: “I had been away and he did this while I was out of town, which is the smart thing to do. I had said I didn’t want to be there to see that. So it was just strange. And it’s like wow, it’s gonna be like this sometimes,” she recounted during the podcast.
Reflecting on their marriage, Richards acknowledged the ongoing adjustments: “It’s an adjustment for sure. For me, it was my biggest accomplishment. I came from a home that was broken. My mom was married many times. So I was very proud of my marriage and the family we built. It was hard for me to finally get to a place where I could say this is a success no matter what.”
Despite the shift, Kyle hinted at Mauricio’s continued presence in her life and possibly on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“I’m sure he will [appear] because, you know, he is obviously family,” she remarked during an Amazon Live session in May.
While navigating the complexities of separation, the couple recently marked Umansky’s birthday together, showcasing their commitment to maintaining a respectful and supportive relationship amid significant personal changes.
