‘RHOC’ Resumes Filming After Tamra Judge Dressed As the FBI Confronts Ryan Boyajian Over $17 Million Gambling Scam!
The cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County recently reconvened to film additional scenes for Season 18 amid Jennifer Pedranti’s fiancé, Ryan Boyajian’s link to a $17 Million gambling fraud.
As reported, Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers star, Shohei Ohtani, entered a not-guilty plea to charges of bank and tax fraud on Tuesday. This procedural step in federal court in Los Angeles paves the way for a plea deal Mizuhara has already negotiated with federal prosecutors, related to a broad sports betting scandal.
According to prosecutors, Mizuhara misappropriated nearly $17 million from Ohtani to cover his sports gambling debts over several years. During this time, he reportedly impersonated Ohtani to bankers and exploited his close personal and professional ties with the athlete. The plea agreement, which details these allegations, was signed by Mizuhara on May 5 and announced by prosecutors shortly after.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Jean P. Rosenbluth presided over the arraignment, during which Mizuhara was required to respond to one count each of bank fraud and subscribing to a false tax return. Despite the not-guilty plea, the arrangement moves forward with the plea deal already in place.
Ryan was accused of receiving stolen wires from Ippei and working with his bookkeeper. During this tumultuous time, cast members including Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow, Emily Simpson, and Alexis Bellino reportedly gathered to discuss Ryan’s legal issues. Tamra posted a video with her castmates, captioning it, “When you think you’re done….” Her hat marked with ‘FBI’ in the photo was a pointed reference, while Jennifer clapped back on her Instagram Story with a photo of her own hat labeled “Trash,” along with a playful caption, “Oops.. Did I not blur out the message on my hat good enough…”
The ongoing feud between Jennifer and Tamra continues to unravel publicly. Following the news of the MLB scandal, Tamra didn’t hold back on social media, posting, “Do you love it when you are right,” and “I warned ya!!” This is indicative of the strained relationship that has not improved since their disputes during Season 17. “It’s not evolving, but I want it to,” Jennifer told Us Weekly at BravoCon on November 4th, expressing a desire to resolve their issues face-to-face rather than through indirect communication.
Their conflict intensified over allegations concerning Jennifer’s relationship with Ryan. During an episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Tamra labeled Ryan the “town whore” and suggested that Jennifer stayed with him despite his infidelity to secure her spot on the show. She claimed, “Jen was going through the casting process when she actually found out that Ryan was cheating on her — and she chose to stay with him because she’s afraid she wouldn’t get cast on the show.” At the reunion, Tamra continued her accusations, noting, “There’s three months of texts going back and forth,” and recounting a specific incident where Jennifer found a risqué photo sent to Ryan while they were in The Bahamas.
Jennifer acknowledged seeing the photo but reiterated that Ryan denied knowing why he received it, even offering to have the woman explain it over the phone. Frustrated with the ongoing drama, Jennifer stated she was “done” and eager to move forward, signaling a weary resignation to the continuous conflicts.
During their vacation in the Bahamas, Ryan proposed to Jennifer, a mother of five.
“We’re both super stoked and couldn’t be happier,” Jennifer shared with PEOPLE, reflecting on the proposal that took place on April 11 at a location that holds special significance for them. “We always say that our love is a gift, and this just feels like the icing on the cake.”
“This is a magical time for us,” Jennifer added. “I really am the luckiest girl in the world.”
