Kim Zolciak’s Target Credit Card Debt Surpasses $1 Million – Court Demands Payment!
Kim Zolciak has been hit with a default judgement after ignoring a lawsuit over an unpaid credit card bill.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum has been ordered to pay $2,613.38 after blowing off a lawsuit filed by Target National Bank, according to court documents obtained by Radar Online.
In June 2023, the bank sued the former reality star over an unpaid balance of $2,482.24 on her Target credit card. Target National claimed that Kim was refusing to settle her debt with the retail chain.
The lawsuit read—“[Target] has made demand upon the Defendant for payment, but [Zolciak] has failed, neglected, and refused to make payment upon the account to the Plaintiff.”
Kim has had the card since 2007, but only recently stopped making payments. The bank claimed that the last payment received was for $500 and dated September 17, 2022.
Kim was served with legal documents and the court entered the default judgment after she failed to respond to the lawsuit.
The judgement comes as Kim’s divorce from estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, rages on in court.
The pair’s dire financial situation was exposed after the “Don’t Be Tardy” couple was slapped with a federal tax lien on April 11, 2023, shortly before they announced their impending divorce. The IRS accused the couple of owing over a million dollars in back taxes for the years 2013, 2017 and 2018. Kroy was later hit with a lawsuit over outstanding debt racked up in a Bahamas casino and an unpaid bill tied to a car lease. Kim was also sued by Saks/Capital One for neglecting to pay $150k in credit card debt and fees.
Last month, the mom of six was ordered to pay $230k after she defaulted on a home equity line of credit.
The estranged couple has also been trying to unload their 7-bed/ 9-bath Alpharetta, Georgia estate. The 9500 square foot house was listed in October 2023 for a whopping $6 million, despite being initially valued at $3 million. The price was later slashed $500k after the duo failed to attract a buyer.
The property was forced into foreclosure after Kim and Kroy defaulted on a $1.6 million loan they secured in 2016. The scheduled auction was canceled one month later. On October 11, the estate faced foreclosure again, with an auction set by Truist Bank for November 7. A Fulton County court later granted an extension on their foreclosure date.
Meanwhile, Kim’s eldest daughter, Brielle Biermann, is currently facing the seizure of her 2019 Land Rover after neglecting to respond to a lawsuit over alleged missed loan payments.
Ally Bank is asking a Georgia judge to green light a Turnover order, which would allow the local sheriff to seize the luxury vehicle.
In December, Ally Bank claimed that the former Bravo star and her 26-year-old daughter both signed a retail installment sale contract for the purchase of a 2019 Land Range Rover. In mid-January, Ally notified the court that Kim and Brielle had been served with legal documents. As of mid March, the duo had yet to file a response.
