In a significant development this Monday, properties belonging to renowned hip hop music mogul Sean Combs, better known as “Diddy,” “Puff Daddy,” and “P. Diddy,” were subjected to raids by federal agents in Los Angeles and Miami, as per NBC News reports, citing informed sources. Authorized by warrants from the Manhattan federal court, the Department of Homeland Security agents embarked on this major operation, said law enforcement sources.
The investigation at hand appears to delve into grave allegations involving possible sex trafficking, sexual assault, and the distribution and solicitation of illegal narcotics and firearms. A source well-acquainted with the ongoing probe shared with NBC that interviews have already been conducted with three women and one man in New York by federal authorities, directly linking the inquiry to 54-year-old Combs. Furthermore, the interviews with three additional women, referred to as “Jane Does,” are on the schedule, indicating an expanding investigation.
Homeland Security issued a statement to NBC 4 Los Angeles, confirming the operation: “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners.” The magnitude of this federal intervention underscores the serious nature of the accusations surrounding Combs.
As the legal and public scrutiny intensifies, Benjamin Brafman, Combs’ attorney, has yet to issue a response to requests for comment from CNBC.
This investigation follows a lawsuit filed against Combs by singer Cassie in Manhattan federal court four months ago. Cassie accused Combs of raping and sex trafficking her, outlining a disturbing sequence of events. According to her suit, Combs, who was instrumental in Cassie’s entry into the music industry by signing her to his label, Bad Boy Records, in 2005, allegedly lured her into a sexual relationship and a dangerous lifestyle marked by excessive alcohol and substance abuse. The lawsuit vividly details how Combs allegedly raped Cassie, engaged in violent acts against her and others, and forced her into sex acts with male sex workers for his own gratification.
The day following the lawsuit’s filing, Cassie and Combs reportedly reached a settlement under undisclosed terms, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing legal and federal investigations surrounding Sean Combs.
