Karen Huger Officially Charged With DRUNK DRIVING In Near Death Car Crash…Facing 8 Citations!
The Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger has been officially charged with driving under the influence in the wake of her high-speed car crash late Tuesday night.
According to Montgomery County records, in addition to the DUI charge, the reality star is also facing a charge of driving while impaired by alcohol, both of which necessitate court appearances.
Moreover, Karen Huger, 60, has been issued 8 traffic violations stemming from allegations of negligent and reckless driving, speeding, driving with a suspended registration, and failure to inform the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration of her change of address.
The fines linked to the aforementioned charges vary from $50 to $510 and will necessitate court appearances.
Karen reportedly shared details about the events leading up to her crash, stating that she was returning home from dinner with a friend and engaged in a conversation about serious matters.
According to reports, Karen admitted to crying while driving and asserted that her heightened emotions led to the accident. She claims to have swerved away from an oncoming vehicle, resulting in a loss of control.
Following the accident, it does not appear that Karen was subjected to arrest.
Karen was involved in a severe car accident on the evening of March 19, resulting in the total loss of her luxury 2017 Maserati. The collision occurred when she struck a median and a crosswalk sign at an intersection before ultimately crashing into a parking sign.
According to a spokesperson for Maryland’s Montgomery County Police Department, Karen was driving in an “aggressive manner,” leading up to the crash, as reported by TMZ.
It remains uncertain whether Karen, the owner of La’ Dame By KH, sustained serious injuries in the crash. However, her vehicle was reportedly so extensively damaged that it had to be towed away from the scene.
Karen has been a prominent figure on Real Housewives of Potomac since the show’s debut season in 2016.
In addition to her television career, she is an entrepreneur in the home, beauty, and wellness sectors. Karen is also recognized for her advocacy work and serves as an ambassador for Promoting Awareness Victim Empowerment (PAVE) and the Alzheimer’s Association.
This is not Karen’s first involvement with the law. In a report from 2016, Karen pleaded guilty to a DWI (Driving While Impaired by Alcohol) charge and accepted a plea deal of probation.
In an interview, she disclosed that the incident occurred while she was on her way home. Karen admitted her guilt and was subsequently sentenced to probation.
Karen recalled the incident, revealing that she was arrested for drunk driving after having a celebratory dinner and returning to her home in Potomac, Maryland.
“I pulled over,” the mother of two exclusively revealed to BOSSIP. “Technically I wasn’t driving, I was pulled over into a parked area where you should not park. I turned off the car and I called my husband. However, the police officers found me first, and I was charged with DUI.”
