NeNe Leakes GOES OFF After Porsha Williams Tried To Get Her Fired From A Netflix Show

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes alleges that her ex-co-star, Porsha Williams, refused to collaborate with her on a forthcoming season of Netflix’s The Upshaws.

In a video shared via her Instagram Stories on Friday, NeNe, 56, disclosed, “Earlier this week, I was told by my management company that the Netflix scripted series The Upshaws were interested in casting me for a part.”

NeNe Leakes, 56, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating that she was “excited” to make a cameo appearance on the show, which features actors like Mike Epps, Wanda Sykes, and Kim Fields.

“I haven’t seen Porsha. We always have a good laugh when we see each other, so I was like, ‘Ok, me and Porsha are going to kill this part,'” NeNe elaborated on her experience.

According to NeNe, she flew to Los Angeles and prepared with the wardrobe department, but did not encounter Porsha, 42, during rehearsals. “Porsha never came,” claimed the former Bravolebrity. “We wrapped for the evening. I went back to my hotel, and when I got to my hotel, production called me and asked me if I had any issues with any ‘Housewives’ because they were going to be recasting the other position.”

NeNe revealed that she informed production about her amicable relationships with several former Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates, including Cynthia Bailey. Cynthia ended up taking Porsha’s role on The Upshaws.

“I was later told that Porsha did not show up to work and had said that she did not want to work with me — that we had issues from the past and she did not want to work with me,” NeNe asserted, expressing her disappointment.

NeNe disclosed that she texted the Go Naked Hair founder before sharing the news with her followers. According to NeNe, Porsha was upset with her for not reaching out after Porsha filed for divorce from husband Simon Guobadia last month.

NeNe emphasized that she didn’t want to intrude on Porsha’s privacy or come across as overly curious.

Reflecting on their history, NeNe recounted how she advocated for Porsha to remain on Real Housewives of Atlanta following her 2013 divorce from Kordell Stewart.

“The bottom line is that Porsha did not want to share the spotlight. That’s it,” NeNe asserted. “Professionals can share the spotlight. Porsha is not a star, she is a Bravolebrity. Be clear.”

NeNe and Porsha have experienced their share of highs and lows both on and off-screen, including moments such as when the “New Normal” alum expressed her desire to see the former “Dish Nation” host and Phaedra Parks off the show after Season 9 in 2017.

Their on-screen dynamics reached a peak during Season 12 of the Bravo show in 2020, marking their most recent appearance together on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

In April 2022, NeNe initiated legal action against Andy Cohen, NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment, Truly Original, and other executives, asserting that they fostered a racist and hostile work environment, purportedly encouraging such behavior.

However, by August of the same year, the “Glee” alum chose to withdraw her discrimination lawsuit against the defendants “without prejudice,” implying the possibility of refiling the case at a later time.

Meanwhile, Porsha disclosed last month her plans to rejoin the cast for Season 16 of Real Housewives of Atlanta following a brief hiatus.
