90 Day Fiance: Ashley Reconsiders Marrying Manuel as Hurricane Approaches: ‘I’m Gonna Die’
90 Day Fiancé star, Ashley Campbell, is determined to marry Manuel Velez, despite the threat of a potential hurricane ruining her big day.
Ashley and Manuel’s pre-wedding festivities in Florida were in full swing during Sunday’s episode, but things went sideways when a tropical storm threatened to crash the party. One day before the nuptials, Ashley’s wedding planner, Armando, alerted the bride that she may be putting her guests at risk if she decided to go through with the ceremony.
“Looking at the climate, it looks like we’re gonna have tropical storms,” he said. “You have to understand when you’re on the beach, you’re possibly putting your people in a really serious situation.”
Ashley admitted that the planner’s warning made her think twice about going forward with her “dream wedding.”
“Hearing the word ‘storm’ is making me hyperventilate,” she told cameras. “I’m not a Floridian, OK? I did not take into account hurricane season when I chose the wedding date … at all.”
“This is my dream wedding, and I can’t even think of bad weather running it,” Ashley continued. “What happens if it rains? Or even worse, if there’s a hurricane? I’m gonna die.”
Ashley, a professed witch, reminded viewers that she had chosen the specific date for a reason.
“I intentionally wanted to marry Manuel as close to the full moon in Pisces as I could, and we’ve got this full moon hitting right on day 89,” she explained. “All of this is happening in divine timing.”
Ashley clarified that she didn’t have any alternate plan in place if a storm washed out her outdoor celebration.
“I chose the date, but the rest I thought was being handled by my wedding planner, so I don’t have a plan B,” she noted. “Postponing isn’t an option.”
Ashley and Manuel’s wedding timeline came just ahead of the Ecuador native’s K1 visa expiration date.
“After those 90 days, if you don’t get married, they get the boot,” Ashley explained, noting that her groom could be sent back to his homeland.
Ashley confirmed that the wedding was going forward, rain or shine.
“I have been waiting to marry him for so long. It’s happening. We’re getting married on the beach. That’s the vision. That’s what’s happening,” she informed her sister. “That’s what we’re doing. At 5:30 p.m. There is no other option.”
Ashley and Manuel faced other various hurdles as their chaotic engagement unfolded in front of TLC cameras. Manuel expressed concern over Ashley’s declared witch status and appeared reluctant to have his future wife meet his two sons. Ashley voiced a desire to meet the boys in a previous episode, but Manuel was concerned about the language barrier and worried that Ashley would “lose her patience” during the sensitive meeting.
Sunday’s episode ended ahead of the ceremony, but multiple outlets confirmed that Ashley and Manuel tied the knot in September 2022.
90 Day Fiancé airs on Sundays at 8 pm ET on TLC.
