‘RHOA’ Shocker: Kandi Burruss Reveals ENTIRE Cast Dropped for Season 16!
Kandi Burruss has confirmed that no current Real Housewives of Atlanta cast members have been asked to return for Season 16. Fans of the Bravo series are now wondering if a plan to reboot the long-running series might be underway.
Kandi told fans and followers in a recent livestream — “They still haven’t told everybody who they’re bringing back. Yeah, they’re over here — they’re being real — [they’re] trippin’! People got lives around here. We gotta make plans for other things.”
She dished in a separate interview — “They are still waiting on the new cast, so I can’t tell you anything.”
Shereé Whitfield also recently revealed that she had not heard anything about the plan for Season 16.
Fans took to X to sound off on what could be brewing at Bravo, regarding the Atlanta franchise.
One viewer wrote — “Kandi and Kenya are essential to the show. You’re trippin. All the franchise needed was to refresh the cast. It is an ensemble show, after all. Just because you’re disgruntled, don’t watch then, but many of us want the franchise to survive, yes it needs a RHOM-style reboot.”
Another user chimed in — “I hope that RHOA gets a reboot, last season was so stale. I need them to find Atlanta socialites who are fabulous … I feel like RHOBH has a glamorous factor to it. I also feel like they have arguments, but they’re always able to come back and have fun with each other.”
In November, Andy Cohen teased that he might support the return of RHOA OG, NeNe Leakes, while chatting with a fan at BravoCon.
“I’m a nostalgic guy. She and I came up together and there’s always room in my heart for, you know, everybody,” he said at the Las Vegas event.
When a fan asked the Bravo executive if NeNe could ever win back her peach, he responded — “Who knows? I mean, she asked me a few years ago to keep her name out of my mouth, so I try to respect that.”
Back in August, sources told Radar Online that the show could be headed for a reboot.
Insiders told the outlet that a reboot “could be” a possibility, as the network is “always looking” for new faces to shake up the cast. Fans began to get nervous after reports alleged that the show was veering in the same direction as the New York City franchise — which returned last year with a brand new cast. Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan were replaced, and fans drew parallels between the NYC ladies and Kenya, Kandi, Marlo Hampton, Sheree Whitfield, Santa Richards-Ross and Drew Sidora.
The rumor purportedly unnerved the current group, as the ladies waited out the season.
“A major shakeup is coming to ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ Before the women filmed their recent reunion, they were told that they should expect a big change with the franchise moving forward,” a source told ET, at the time. “They hinted at a reboot like New York got, but it also could be moving forward with only a couple of the current stars. The cast is on edge about their future and has no idea where the network plans to go. Although their ratings are still strong, the network is listening to fans and their desire for a change.”
