‘RHOBH’ Alum Lisa Rinna Talks Sex Life with Harry Hamlin
Lisa Rinna got candid about her sex life with husband, Harry Hamlin, in a new interview with Cosmopolitan.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum admitted that due to shifting “desire levels” that come with age, the couple’s sexual relationship had cooled.
“We really have great sex together, and we always have,” the actress told the mag for their “Sex After 60” issue published Tuesday.
She added — “It’s just that maybe it doesn’t happen quite as often as it did when you’re in your 30s and in your 20s, I would say. And I think that’s normal.”
Lisa Rinna, who is 12 years younger than Harry, described the situation as “the natural evolution of life.”
The 60-year-old explained — “So it’s figuring out how to coexist without taking that personally as a woman.”
Lisa Rinna noted that the change had encouraged the pair to to create a “space for the ebb and flow of sexuality” and to welcome “companionship.”
The former Bravo star revealed that her sexual awareness had only increased, despite the decline.
“I’ve gotten to that place where at 60, I am so much more confident than I was at 30. I love this age because I’m freer and more confident and more passionate than I’ve ever been,” Rinna said.
“I have not always been this in touch with my sexuality at all. I grew up very repressed, like everybody did in the ’60s,” she continued. “It just wasn’t something that nice girls did or talked about or flaunted, especially not in Medford, Ore., where I was raised.”
“The Days of Our Lives” alum also pointed to a “good girl” dynamic and a perceived expectation to follow the norm and not express her feelings.
“You can see how well that went for me,” she explained. “I rebelled, certainly, after a while. But I toed the line really well for a very long time, even when I first met Harry.”
Rinna and Harry met in 1992, when the actor was married to actress, Nicollette Sheridan. The couple divorced that same year. Harry and Rinna’s relationship turned romantic a few months later, per a report by People. The couple wed in August 1997, after dating for nearly five years.
The famous couple welcomed their first daughter, Delilah Belle, now 25, in June 1998. Rinna gave birth to their second child, Amelia Gray, now 22, in June 2001.
Last year, Bravo cut ties with Rinna after a particularly tumultuous RHOBH Season 12. Rinna made appearances during Season 4 and officially joined the cast for Season 5, in 2014.
The network stated at the time that the decision to part ways was “mutual,” but many fans believed that the actress’ messy antics, both on the show and on social media, led to her demise.
