Mama June Relapses: Appears HIGH AS A KITE During Wild Livestream
June Shannon denied allegations that she had relapsed on drugs after she appeared unhinged and high, on a recent livestream video.
The Mama June: Road to Redemption star claimed that she was clean and sober after being hit with backlash over the TikTok video, during which she ranted about online trolls.
Mama June, 44, sparked concern among fans and followers as she repeatedly ducked below the camera during the live video. The reality star said she was cooking as she rambled about haters, per a TMZ report. She claimed that she had to bend down to make out comments due to blindness in one eye.
June told the outlet that the WeTV production team requires her to take weekly drug tests. She added that she had never failed a drug screening.
She said — “That doesn’t keep me clean, I keep me clean.”
In March 2019, June was arrested alongside then-boyfriend, Geno Doak, amid spiraling drug addiction. June sold the family’s Georgia home at a loss to obtain quick cash, as her addiction issues raged. June and Geno were busted for felony drug possession the following year. They checked into rehab together but eventually split, in August 2021.
June later admitted that she had dropped a jaw-dropping $1.5 million on drugs in the years leading to her arrest.
“I know the world will be shocked because you didn’t know it,” she told Us Weekly, in March 2021. “I was out doing press. I was out living my life. I was out doing, you know, I was doing a season and stuff like that.”
A trailer for the upcoming season of “Mama June: Family Crisis,” teases that the show will chronicle the sad passing of June’s eldest daughter, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, who battled adrenal carcinoma for ten months.
The teaser also featured Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s high school graduation, among other family ups and downs.
June’s daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, told cameras in the sneak peek — “Anna’s cancer is very aggressive.”
She commented — “I don’t need any more stress on me.”
Anna’s ex-husband, Michael Cardwell, sued June for custody of his ex’s firstborn child, Kaitlyn, shortly after her death. Michael was married to the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” alum from 2014-2017. Michael filed the lawsuit against June on Sunday, December 17, a little more than a week after the 29-year-old’s death. Michael asked a Georgia court for custody of the 11-year-old, whom Anna had with a previous partner. He identified Kaitlyn’s father as man named Caleb Clark, but alleged that paternity was never confirmed by a DNA test, nor has Clark supported Anna or Kaitlyn in the past.
Michael has custody of 8-year-old daughter, Kylee, the biological child he shared with Anna.
June responded by petitioning a Georgia judge for permanent physical custody of her granddaughter. She was awarded emergency guardianship of Kaitlyn on December 15.
She stated in court documents—“Since the mother’s passing, the child has remained in the care, custody, and control of Petitioner.”
”Petitioner previously had temporary guardianship of the child. More recently, approximately one month before passing, the mother and child began residing with Petitioner.”
The reality star ignored Michael’s filing in her petition, stating—”Petitioner is not aware of any other actions involving custody of the child pending in this or any other state.”
Mama June: Family Crisis premieres in February.
