Former Nurse and Patient of ‘Married to Medicine’ Star Dr. Jackie Accuses Her of Abuse: ‘She Made My Life Hell”
Married to Medicine star, Dr. Jackie Walters, is being slammed with backlash after a resurfaced video revealed an attitude that didn’t align with her recently featured conversation with Vice President Kamala Harris.
VP Harris expressed concern over high maternal mortality rates among pregnant black women, and the need for mental health and emotional support for postpartum moms, in a scene featured on Sunday’s episode. Jackie agreed to promote the message and encourage more dialogue on the topic.
The unearthed clip, which was shared on Instagram by The Neighborhood Talk, featured Jackie chatting about her practice on Dr. Heavenly Kimes’ YouTube show. Married to Medicine alum, Buffie Purselle, dragged her former co-star in one repost of the video.

“Sometimes as African American women we’re a bit more dramatic…in that you go to the doctor and you complain and you complain and you complain and you’re not taken serious because you’ve cried wolf the entire pregnancy,” Jackie told her co-star in the resurfaced footage.
“As African American women we want to also make sure you’re being serious with your doctor and not playing the games so I can take you off work. Because then we see you 25 times in the pregnancy, it’s hard to believe that there’s a true problem when there’s a true problem,” she added.
Fans reacted in the post’s comment section, and one vocal critic claimed to have shared a professional relationship with Jackie.
The person wrote — “As her former Nurse who worked side by side to her and former patient everything y’all finally seeing about your favorite doctor is who she really is. She does accept Medicaid and she sees patients from all walks of life in her practice but she is a person throws rocks and hides her hands. The moment I got pregnant ( with my now 2 year old ) in a high risk pregnancy she made my life hell. She does not care about pregnancy nor does she care about the black women she claims to advocate for. No one is off limits. Not even her celeb friends/ patients. She’s a nasty person who is jaded about not being able to have children and is reminded everyday at her job.”
While Jackie had some supporters in the fiery forum, others wrote scathing opinions about the Bravo doc.
One person, who claimed to be one of Jackie’s former patients, wrote — “She’s not lying I had to switch doctors at 9 months bc i was experiencing so much pain and unable to breathe at night he didn’t believe me… found out my pregnancy was high risk and my baby was losing oxygen … they had to induce me a week later ! Saved me and my babies life! I’m so thankful !! A lot of black doctors don’t protect us like they should I’m sorry to say.”
Another angry fan ranted — “OK but even if a black woman is just trying to get you to write a note so she doesn’t have to go to work and can rest during her pregnancy, why the F do you care? What does it hurt you as a doctor? You still get the same damn co-pay! If that woman is stressed and wants to stay the F home why do you care? This has me HOT.”
A third wrote — “Because as a BLACK DOCTOR WHY WOULD YOU DAREEEE SAY THIS.”
Married to Medicine airs on Sundays, at 9 pm ET, on Bravo.
