‘RHOP’ RECAP: Juan Dixon Unleashes on Robyn for Her Emotional Reaction to Wendy and Candiace’s Accusations About His Job Loss

Welcome back for more tea on The Real Housewives of Potomac. The episode kicks off in the car with Candiace Dillard-Bassett’s insinuations about Juan Dixon losing his job, which moves Robyn Dixon to tears. Wendy Osefo and Mia Thornton are confused as Robyn finally breaks down. Robyn feels the women have turned her into a villain and although Candiace disagrees, Robyn cries while internalizing the ladies comments about Juan Dixon’s unemployment. Robyn defends Juan by claiming there are other husbands that talk trash about people “all day,” and Wendy’s quick to defend Eddie. Candiace however isn’t apologizing for her husband defending himself against “lying mfers.” 

Mia quietly agrees with Candiace as Robyn makes excuses and we get a flashback of Chris Bassett defending himself on a podcast. Chris doesn’t blame Robyn but does feel she used his drama to deflect from hers. Candiace tells Robyn that she looks complicit in the drama with Gizelle Bryant and the two agree to no longer be friends. Meanwhile, in the other car, the ladies scoop out the venue as Candiace and Robyn’s argument spills onto the street. Candiace defends herself against Robyn’s gaslighting and is sure to get the last word as Wendy urges them to come on. Robyn thinks Candiace enjoys watching her downfall and the fighting cease, as ladies slowly make their way into the venue. 

Karen’s hesitant to be around chickens but goes along with the program as Wendy scoops out the place. The hostess explains the game of Chicken Sh** Bingo and basically if the chicken poops on your number, you win the game! This game is huge in Texas and the women are hesitant but ready to try something new. Gizelle checks in on Robyn and as Mia tries to reiterate what happened, Robyn begins crying again as Wendy passes Candiace a tissue. Robyn cries to the group about protecting her family and Wendy tries to change topics but Candiace begins to cry also while saying “She’s crying because she’s upset.”

Gizelle points her finger in Candiace’s direction and says “So she never apologized,” as Candiace begins to get more upset saying “I’m done,” as Wendy tries to explain. Ashley Darby wonders why Candiace is crying. Mia says “She thinks it’s about her” as Wendy tells Mia not to do that and that Candiace is hurt too. Karen’s watching everything unfold as Gizelle chimes in calling Candiace an enemy. Candiace doesn’t know how to handle Robyn’s tears and doesn’t understand why Robyn’s hurt. Candiace begins crying as Ashely shades her in her confessional, questioning the authenticity of Candiace’s tears. Robyn goes outside for some air as Gizelle and Mia tag along. 

Robyn wants to be alone and cries while continuing to defend her man. Another hostess brings a chicken over to the ladies and Nneka Ihim shades Ashley for wanting to pet the chicken. Ashley goes to wash her hands as Karen and Nneka bond over Karen’s distain for chickens while Gizelle and Mia check on Robyn. Gizelle tells Mia how strong Robyn is and Mia wants to help but doesn’t know how. Gizelle brings up the many headlines over the years and brings up Candiace doubling down on her comments while saying “F*** you b****! I didn’t want to even sit at the table with her.” As the rest of the ladies listen to Candiace at the table, Candiace reflects on how damaging Gizelle’s accusations were. 

Candiace realizes she can’t be friends with someone who made such harsh statements about her husband; and she damn sure can’t be friends with a person whose friends with that person. Wendy encourages Candiace to give Robyn a chance as Karen hopes they can make it through the night. Candiace continues breaking down as Wendy says “Candiace, you know what this is” as Karen and Nneka look on quietly. Karen doesn’t want Candiace to feel manipulated and Wendy replies that there’s a lot of manipulation within this group. In Nneka’s confessional, she thinks Wendy’s trying to manipulate Candiace as we get a flashback to earlier that day. 

Wendy, Candiace, and Karen decide to leave as Robyn finally gets up from the curb as Mia and Gizelle follow slowly behind her. Wendy see’s the hurt between Robyn and Candiace, and while reiterating the story to Karen; Candiace begins going off about Michael Darby’s lawsuit against her and makes it clear she’s staying away from Ashley and doubles down that Robyn shouldn’t have spoken about Juan’s legal issues. Candiace admits she does want to talk with Robyn and that she’s glad to see Robyn in her feelings, finally. Candiace is hurt by Robyn’s hurt and Karen urges the two to take their time before rushing a conversation. Candiace doesn’t think there’s anything else to say as Karen encourages the girls to go back inside to enjoy themselves. 

Candiace orders herself a shot as Gizelle calls for an Uber and Ashley goes outside to check on them. Nneka goes outside to join the cool girls as Ashley tells Robyn she wants her to stay. Gizelle wants to take her bestie back to the hotel as Ashley asks the ladies to text her later. Wendy meets a new chicken as Candiace begins crying again as Nneka and Ashley play the game. Ashley spots a bartender that looks like Chris Bassett as Wendy begins betting on chickens. Wendy’s having a good time as Candiace continues crying on the side as Karen tries to make her laugh. Karen begins itching as the girls hit the dance floor while Gizelle and Mia ride back to the hotel with Robyn. 

Mia questions why Candiace was crying so hard and intimidates Candiace as Gizelle calls Candiace a victim and Robyn says, “There’s no rationalizing with her” and accuses Candiace of cyberbullying her! Gizelle claims she’s on ready when it comes to Candiace as the rest of the ladies dance at Bingo. The ladies head to bed and the next morning is Karen’s 60^th Birthday. She gets a birthday call from her cousin Mario as Candiace checks in on Chris. Candiace tells Chris about last night and how emotional she got arguing with Robyn. Candiace admits she couldn’t turn her emotions off as Chris consoles her. 

Candiace wants to have fun and Chris encourages her to let things go as Candiace promises to assess the situation. Gizelle visits Karen in her room and dances with her before gifting Karen a bottle of champagne and chocolate. Karen thanks Gizelle as she reflects on the growth between the two over the years. Gizelle thinks sixty looks good on Karen and Karen realizes everyday is important and is grateful to be with the ladies. Forgetting the drama from yesterday, Karen wants to focus on enjoying herself and Gizelle reflects on Karen’s birthday from hell in Miami. Gizelle promises they’ll be no disasters from last year and switches topics to Candiace. 

Gizelle wants Karen to understand there’s no moving forward with Candiace, due to Candiace’s accusation that Gizelle is a colorist. Gizelle tells Karen that her family received hundreds of death threats and now Gizelle’s worried about her safety. Gizelle feels that Candiace went too far, and Karen relates to Gizelle by mentioning their two brown skin girls. Karen got the same pushback and apologizes to Gizelle for how serious things got between her and Gizelle. Karen promises to leave it alone and wishes Gizelle would’ve said something sooner. Nneka’s chatting with Lebe as she gets dressed and Mia receives a call from Gordon Thornton. 

Mia explains to Gordon the drama between Robyn and Candiace. Gordon cuts Mia off to inform her about their next steps in a suit against Gordon’s siblings. Mia doesn’t agree with the lawsuit and admits it’s causing conflict within their marriage. Gordon wants to hear what the lawyers have to say, and Mia hangs up after asking to be updated. The ladies head into the sprinter vans and Nneka switches cars with Robyn so that she doesn’t have to be next to Candiace. The ladies want to celebrate Karen and gives her a special birthday shoutout in their confessionals. 

Candiace wonders what their next adventure is as Karen promises not to get in any body of water, because she can’t swim. The ladies arrive to Lady Bird Lake and meet the dock attendant before grabbing their equipment. Ashely wonders if there’s any snakes in the water and Karen watches on the side as the ladies prepare to kayak. Ashley hates on Karen in her confessional and wonders why Karen isn’t using this opportunity to flex her muscles, like she does on Instagram. The ladies partake in the festivities as Karen relaxes on the side as Candiace questions what else is in the water. The ladies are having fun as Robyn calls Karen a stick in the mud as Gizelle runs into another boat. 

Candiace sits next to Karen and tells Karen how yesterday was a lot as Gizelle tells Robyn she went to bed mad last night. Robyn called Juan to tell him the tea as Karen tells Candiace she could tell she was hurt. Candiace didn’t anticipate being that out of sorts and thanks Karen for her support. Karen doesn’t know what’s going to happen but encourages Candiace to stay strong as Robyn mentions the damage Candiace caused by doing multiple interviews bashing her. Karen and Gizelle discuss the bingo game as Mia creates a song to paddle to. Meanwhile, Gizelle and Robyn are going slow as Ashley keeps up with Mia and Nneka. 

The ladies paddle back for some wine as Mia hits Nneka in the head with her paddle. Wendy almost crashes into the dock as the ladies enjoy the rest of their kayak. Candiace brings over the wine as Karen pours a bit in her, Nneka, and Wendy’s mouth. Candiace gets a spider in her boat as Nneka begins warming up to Mia and her antics. Candiace finally gets into the boat as Karen tells us what she’d rather be doing on her birthday. The ladies take a break to discuss sharing wine while eating booty, as Karen tries to reel them back in. The ladies head back to the hotel as Mia compliments Ashley, Robyn, and Ashley’s tan as Karen tells the Candiace, Wendy, and Nneka about buying her grandmother’s farm. 

A flashback shows the struggle Karen, and her family went through to keep their land and Karen reminisce on the importance of her grandmother’s home. Karen’s turning her grandmother’s home into a tourist museum and is proud of the work she’s put into in Surry county. Karen wants to duplicate more black land ownership and Nneka gives Karen her props as Ashley instructs the ladies to chill by the pool. Robyn calls Juan to discuss health insurance before going into the drama from the day. Juan got a severance package after being fired but Robyn hopes he gets another job before funds run out. 

Switching topics, Robyn tells Juan about what Karen, Candiace, and Wendy said; while blaming Candiance for implying Robyn’s mouth is why Juan got fired. Robyn got triggered and Juan wonders why she’s feeding into it. Juan can’t listen to it anymore and tells Robyn to stop feeding into it and yells at her “It’s not their life! It’s our life!”

Juan tells Robyn his skin is crawling listening to her and hangs up on her as we get a look at the midseason trailer. Looks like things are just heating up and be sure to come back next week for a new episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
