Kody and Robyn Brown’s Marriage in Shambles Amid Plural Family Collapse

Kody Brown reveals that he’s been sabotaging his one remaining marriage in the wake of his plural family collapse, in a preview of Sunday’s “Sister Wives: One on One” special.

Kody opens up about his relationship with his fourth and only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, during the third installment of the tell-all special. 

The patriarch confesses that his “frustration and anger” over Christine, Janelle and Meri Brown’s exits led to marital issues with Robyn.   

Kody tells host, Sukanya Krishnan, that he wanted to “punish” himself in  the aftermath of the family implosion. 

He explained — “I thought of myself leaving Robyn and having another lover and looking at this lover and going, ‘I don’t love you. I’m in love with another woman. I’m in love with a woman that I left because I was too much a piece of s— to manage the relationship.’ And what it was was just anger and I’m embarrassed.” 

Kody admits that his emotional state led to incidents of “bad behavior” that  impacted his relationship with his one remaining wife. 

“These are my demons and that’s like doing something that destroys myself,” he explains. “Christine’s leaving and I’m just angry. So a lot of dark winds were going through me. A lot of devil, a lot of temptation, which would be destructive of my relationship with Robyn.”

He continues — “So I dealt with a lot of anger and she would get frustrated. My anger was a turn-off. It was scary. And the dumb thing is — because I’m so honest — I just share everything with her, so I shared stuff with her that was heartbreaking.” 

He calls some of his thoughts “terrible,” adding — “There’s some things in a man’s mind that should never be expressed.”

Robyn addresses Kody’s “self sabotaging” tendencies in a separate interview. The mom of five becomes emotional when asked if her husband had been undermining their relationship. 

“He tries to. I have to stop him all the time,” she shares. 

Robyn asserts that Kody instigates fights over “dumb things.”

“We’re in different places,” she admits. “Sorry, we’re in different places about the bomb that went off on our family. And like, I’m in a major place of mourning and he’s angry and he doesn’t want to… He just wants to just go find whatever, you know? And I’m like, no, I can’t feel like that.”

Robyn revealed in a recent interview with People that it felt like a “death” when Christine, Janelle and Meri left the family. 

“It’s [just] Kody and I, and we’re getting through this and figuring this out, but it does feel … like there was a death,” she said. “And we’re both going through a death separately.”

She added — “It feels like we’re going through a death and we’re both handling it differently. And we’re in different places with it.”

Christine announced that she and Kody had called it quits in November 2021. Janelle revealed her decision to separate from Kody, a year later. Meri followed suit in January, after existing in a platonic relationship for years.
