Teen Mom: Jace Evans Placed in Foster Care After Running Away From Barbara’s House

Jace Evans, the eldest child of Teen Mom 2 alum, Jenelle Evans, is in the custody of Child Protective Services after running away from his grandmother’s home. The teen reportedly ran away last weekend and was not found by police until 48 hours later. 

Jace was transported to a hospital and is now under the care of CPS, according to a TMZ report. A source told the outlet that Jace will be placed in a foster home, due to his multiple runaway attempts. 

The outlet reported that Jace got into trouble at school after officials caught him vaping, which resulted in his grandmother, Barbara Evans, taking away his phone. Barbara had reportedly been told to not allow the 14-year-old a phone, but seemingly went against the advice. Jace left Barbara’s home without telling anyone after his phone was confiscated. 

Barbara took Jace back into her home in October, after he was released from the hospital following multiple runaway attempts from Jenelle and husband, David Eason’s home.  

Eason became the subject of a criminal Child Protective Services investigation after Jace accused him of assault.

North Carolina authorities charged David after the teen ran away from the family home on three separate occasions between August and September 2023. Jace was hospitalized and underwent a mental evaluation after CPS intervened, following the third incident. He was released from the hospital under the care of his grandmother, on October 10.

Prosecutors accused Eason of “inflicting physical injury” on the teen and causing “marks on the right arm and left and right side of the neck.” 

Insiders told TMZ at the time that video footage of the alleged incident had been turned over to local police and Child Protective Services.

The tipster said — “Our law enforcement sources tell us while Jenelle hasn’t yet been charged, there’s a possibility she could eventually face charges as well.”

Jenelle took to social media to speak out after her husband was charged with child abuse, telling followers — “I do not trust anyone around me … I have no idea what human being I can trust anymore, not even my own blood.”

She added — “I’m being fed all these different stories from different people. People trying to get on my good side. To then betray me over and over.”

Last month, Jenelle addressed the situation in an interview with The Messenger. 

“My son has been having mental health issues for the past two to three years. He has been on and off medication that was not prescribed under my care,” she told the outlet. “They are thinking it’s because of the effects of the medication, it’s causing him to have behaviors he shouldn’t have. He’s had outbursts. He’s in intensive therapy at the moment and getting the help he needs.”
