Denise Richards Accuses Lisa Rinna of Choosing TV Fame Over Their 20-Year Friendship 

Denise Richards addressed the demise of her 20-year friendship with Lisa Rinna, who trashed their relationship after accusing the actress of having a fling with Brandi Glanville, during a recent chat with Bethenny Frankel.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star also raised an eyebrow at the Vanity Fair exposé during her appearance on Bethenny’s podcast, “Just B.” 

“My experience with Lisa Rinna was so bad that I thought, ‘OK, what would happen next season?’” Denise told the “Real Housewives of New York City” alum. “I did have a s—- experience. … It wasn’t good with Lisa Rinna and it was sad to me.”

The “Wild Things” actress added—“I had a 20-year friendship with her, and to see how she could sacrifice a friendship of 20 years for a show that isn’t gonna last forever — obviously, she isn’t on it anymore — like, at what cost?”

Denise shared that she believed that the pair’s friendship would be intact if she hadn’t joined the Bravo series. 

“I think that you learn a lot about people when you live with them, travel or work with them. I had never worked with Rinna before,” she said.

When the mom of three was asked if she’d consider a RHOBH return, she replied—“We’ll see whatever happens … I don’t know if they’ll ask me back, I just did a few episodes [as a guest in season 13]. I didn’t call to say, ‘Hey, can I come back?’” 

The 54-year-old added — “After my second season, I also — because I wanted it to be real — thought, ‘How would [coming back] make sense, if all the women f—ing hate me?’ … Almost everyone did, except for Garcelle [Beauvais] and Sutton [Stracke], but everyone else was such an asshole to me.”

Denise also threw shade at the recently published Vanity Fair article, which spotlighted disturbing allegations of alcohol abuse and racism within the “Housewives” culture. 

“I was surprised by it,” she explained. “Only because I didn’t understand the article. I didn’t think there … was new information. I didn’t know what the point of view of the article was because leading up to it, I did see stuff on social media that this big article was gonna come out.”

Bethenny, whose personal take was featured in the exposé, stated that the the publication “knows” that it left “a lot of crumbs on the floor.” She pointed out that Vanity Fair is owned by Warner Brothers, the same company that owns Shed Media, which produces the “Real Housewives of New York City.”  

Back in April, Denise confirmed that she would be appearing on RHOBH Season 13, in an interview with Variety. 

“I have filmed some episodes,” Denise revealed. “And it’s been fun. And you know, I’m a big fan of the show, so it was fun to go back and film a lot of stuff with them.”

She looked back at her two seasons on the show, telling the outlet—“When I left after my second season, I just felt as though some of the women were very toxic and they played so dirty. I understand there has to be drama, but I also think it’s fun to see women having fun, especially this age group.”

She added — “I also think it’s great to show you can have fun. But I don’t think it’s a positive message to try and tear people down. You can have your opinions, but don’t try to tear people down. I don’t think it’s right. I mean, that part I don’t like.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays, at 8 pm ET, on Bravo.
