Garcelle Beauvais Speaks On Dorit Kemsley and PK’s Breakup
Garcelle Beauvais has weighed in on the breakup rumors surrounding her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star, Dorit Kemsley and husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley.
The actress reacted to the rumors during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Wednesday night. Garcelle told host, Andy Cohen, that she would be “shocked and sad” if the rumored separation was actually true.
“I know Dorit, that if it’s true, she will be devastated,” Garcelle added.
Real Housewives of Miami star, Alexia Nepola, chimed in to share her own concerns about the frequency of marital issues and breakups amid “Housewives” stars.
She said — “I’m so scared. I’m about to quit the show because I feel like all the ladies get divorced.”
Dorit and PK’s shaky marriage has sparked chatter for months. Dorit’s cast mate, Erika Jayne, even predicted the couple’s demise last year during an appearance at BravoCon 2022.
The couple addressed the speculation in a joint statement to People, last week.
“We remain committed to working through these issues as a united couple for our family,” the pair said. “We have not separated nor are we planning to do so. Rather, we are focused on healing, making changes and doing the things that many couples have to do at some point in their marriage.”
They continued — “We would be grateful for everyone’s understanding,” the couple continued. We are doing what we can to focus on the best interests of our family, as opposed to spending our time contending with rumors and hearsay that are not true.”
Dorit spoke out about the difficult stretch in her marriage on Wednesday, during an appearance on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.
“The last couple of years, post-home invasion, have been very difficult for me,” the 47-year-old shared.
In October 2021, Dorit was held at gunpoint during a home invasion at the couple’s Encino, California home. The couple’s two children, Jagger, now 9, and Phoenix, now 7, were inside the home during the scary ordeal. In December 2022, Dorit was followed by three men who stole a handbag containing $10k in cash during a Christmas shopping outing.
“There’s no area of your life that it doesn’t touch,” Dorit continued. “And my husband, who travels for work and he was traveling the most that year … was the year that I needed him the most.”
She added — “It definitely took a toll and we had our challenges.”
The reality star explained that the PTSD that came after the armed robbery affected several areas of her life, not just her marriage.
She revealed — “And with the second robbery, it threw me back in tenfold.”
Dorit, who tied the knot with PK in 2015, said that while the couple had no plan to divorce they had felt “disconnected.”
“PK and I, we really are very co-dependent and connected,” Dorit said. “So it’s the first time in the 13 years we’ve been together that we felt this disconnect.”
The designer reiterated that she and PK had never separated, adding—“We had our challenges and we continued to work through them and get better and better and stronger and that’s not always something that happens overnight.”
