Shannon Beador Gets Off Easy After DUI Crash, 3 Years Probation!

Following an arrest in September for a DUI and hit-and-run, Shannon Beador has received her sentence.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star, was given three years of probation and ordered to complete 40 hours of community service, as verified by court documents. She is further required to finish a nine-month alcohol education program and was also obligated to make restitution for the property damage stemming from the incident, which she has complied with.

The district attorney of Orange County, Todd Spitzer, advocated for a more severe sentence for the TV personality, including a 30-day incarceration, as reported first by TMZ.

Shannon Beador was absent from the Thursday morning court session. However, her legal representatives entered a no-contest plea to one of the charges on her behalf.

Attorney Michael L. Fell, representing Shannon, along with Spitzer, did not provide immediate responses to PEOPLE’s inquiries for comments.

This sentencing comes on the heels of Shannon facing two misdemeanor charges from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office less than a week earlier. The charges included one for DUI and another for hit and run — the latter being dismissed at the Thursday proceeding—related to the event that occurred last month.

Officials informed TMZ that Shannon’s blood alcohol content was .24, which is three times the legal driving limit.

The Newport Beach Police Department had previously confirmed Shannon’s arrest at 1:17 a.m. on September 17 to PEOPLE, following her departure from an accident site that resulted in property damage. She was booked for two misdemeanors, hit and run, and DUI alcohol, and was subsequently released on a citation, according to the NBPD.

TMZ initially reported that police located Shannon while she was out walking her dog, having reportedly left her car on the road. On September 18, Fell provided a statement to PEOPLE stating Beador’s readiness to take full accountability.

Fell remarked that Shannon was deeply regretful and fully ready to assume responsibility once all official details were disclosed.

That same day, Jeff Lewis, Shannon’s friend and a fellow Bravo celebrity, expressed his disbelief and described her actions as atypical during his SiriusXM show.

Jeff Lewis disclosed Shannon’s DUI and accident, mentioning her injury and recovery period. He recalled his long-term friendship with Beador and conveyed his surprise, emphasizing Beador’s sense of accountability and her feelings of shame and embarrassment.

Jeff Lewis also commented on public speculation about Shannon’s need for rehabilitation and alcoholism, clarifying that he doesn’t consider her an alcoholic but someone who has been facing personal challenges and using alcohol as a crutch.

Earlier in the year, Shannon opened up about her emotional turmoil after the dissolution of her three-and-a-half-year relationship with John Janssen.

Shannon shared on an RHOC episode her deep affection for Janssen and her disappointment that the relationship did not lead to a lasting partnership, despite her hopes and love.

Furthermore, there was an incident earlier this year where Shannon was purportedly involved in a heated dispute with Janssen’s daughter at a bar. While she admitted to the confrontation, she firmly refuted claims of being expelled from the establishment.
