‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Cast Throws Shade in Latest Promotional Teaser
The Real Housewives of Potomac is set to return to Bravo on November 5 and fans are already buzzing about the conflicts that brewed during filming.
Notable among these conflicts is the rift between Candiace Dillard and Robyn Dixon, stirred by disputes over comments made by Candiace at the end of Season 8. Candiace critiqued Robyn for not addressing, on the show, Juan Dixon’s alleged inappropriate affair with a woman on Instagram, which led to a heated exchange last season.
Further adding complexity to the interpersonal dynamics of the show, Ashley Darby and Candiace face legal conflicts as Michael Darby filed a defamation lawsuit against Candiace. Tensions also simmered between Karen Huger and Mia Thornton, and Wendy Osefo found herself at odds with new entrant Nneka Ihim.
A promotional activity, involving the passing of a “tea cup” among the cast, highlighted the prevailing tensions. The activity involved the ladies passing the tea cup along with a comment, which varied from light-hearted to shaded remarks. Karen Huger initiated, “I’m passing the teacup to the person with the most improved effort toward dressing better,” referring to Gizelle Bryant.
Following her, Gizelle mentioned, “I’m passing the teacup to the TikTok Queen,” alluding to Ashley Darby.
Ashley’s turn saw a compliment going Robyn Dixon’s way, “I’m passing the teacup to the chillest, the realest, and the most blunt housewife. She will tell you like it is.”
Robyn chose to pass her “shade cup” to Candiace Dillard with the comment, “I’m passing the teacup to the housewife who lives her entire life expressing her feelings on Twitter.”
In response, Candiace decided to send her teacup to Wendy Osefo, “I’m passing my teacup to the homegirl with the most degrees in the group, honey.”
The chain continued with Wendy targeting Mia Thornton, “I’m passing the teacup to the housewife who never remembers the truth,” and Mia in turn shading Karen’s title by passing the cup to RHOP newbie, Nneka Ihim: “I’m passing the teacup to the Princess of Potomac.”
Nneka concluded the exchange, albeit ambiguously, by remarking, “I’m passing the teacup to the best flip-flopper,” leaving the audience to speculate on the intended recipient of her comment.
