Kody and Robyn Brown Were Two Hours Late To Gwendlyn’s Wedding, Didn’t Talk to Anyone!
Kody Brown and his wife Robyn shocked Sister Wives fans last weekend when they attended Gwendlyn’s wedding to Beatriz Queiroz.
Many followers believed that Kody and Robyn would not be present due to their estranged relationship with Gwendlyn and most of the Brown Family. Their unexpected appearance at the wedding raised eyebrows and sparked intrigue among fans.
Earlier this week, Gwendlyn took to YouTube in a livestream to share all the details about her wedding and candidly addressed the questions that Sister Wives fans had been curious about. She openly discussed how Kody and his only remaining wife, Robyn, interacted with Kody’s three ex-wives — Meri, Christine, and Janelle — as well as many of the kids with whom Kody is estranged. The livestream gave fans an inside look into the family dynamics, shedding light on the relationships within the Brown Family.
During her livestream, Gwendlyn openly shared that Robyn and Kody arrived at the festivities two hours late, which ultimately led to them missing the opportunity to be included in the Brown Family photos taken that night. Her revelation shed light on the timing and dynamics of the wedding event, giving fans a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes moments of the celebration.
The intimate ceremony had approximately 50 guests and wasn’t filmed for the TV show, as Gwen specifically forbade it. The privacy of the event allowed the couple to celebrate their special day with loved ones in a more personal and intimate setting.
According to Gwen, her dad and Robyn had minimal interaction with the other family members at the wedding, except for Mykelti Padron, who shares a close bond with both of them. One photo from the night captured Kody in the background, lovingly feeding one of Mykelti’s twins.
“My dad and Robyn were just kind of there. They showed up like two hours late and just kind of hung out,” Gwendlyn stated. “Mykelti was obviously super-hyped to see them because she, like, hangs out with them. And they ended up babysitting her babies, which is super convenient…so we just kind of had free babysitters.”
Gwen verified that certain family members were indeed displeased to see Kody and Robyn’s presence at the wedding. Despite their unhappiness, Gwen mentioned that no one caused a scene during the event; rather, some individuals opted to express their frustration privately by discussing their feelings about Kody and his wife behind their backs.
“Some people were mad that he was there, because they weren’t aware that I was like, ‘Yeah you can come,’” Gwen said. “So a few people were like, ‘How dare you show up?’ But other than that, it was fine. [Those people] didn’t say it to his face. Nobody says bad things to people’s faces. They just gossip about it behind their backs.”
Gwendlyn, known for her candidness on social media about her dislike of Robyn, surprisingly mentioned that having Robyn attend the wedding wasn’t awkward for her. Despite her previous outspokenness, Gwendlyn appeared to handle the situation without discomfort or unease.
“It was chill. I gave her a hug and everyone was like, ‘Gwendlyn, that was so shocking!’ and I was like, ‘I’m gonna give my guests a hug,’” she said. “I felt like I should extend an olive branch, especially since I haven’t been being the nicest to her on-camera. I was like, ‘I’m just going to give her a little cozy hug.’”
Robyn was taken aback when Gwen initiated a hug, considering their not-so-great history. The unexpected gesture may have come as a surprise to Robyn, given their previous interactions and relationship dynamics.
“When I did give her a hug, she like, stepped aside and looked like she expected me to, like, push her away and go around her,” Gwen said. “I felt a little bad…”
Gwen clarified the reason behind Robyn and Kody’s absence from several Brown Family photos taken at the wedding, explaining that their own tardiness was the cause. Their late arrival resulted in their mugs not being captured in some of the pictures, and Gwen’s confirmation sheds light on the situation, putting any speculation to rest.
“That’s why they weren’t in the big family photos; it’s just that they weren’t there in time,” she said.
Gwen revealed that she didn’t have the opportunity to take a photo with her dad on her wedding day.
“I don’t think there was a moment for my dad to take a picture with me,” she said. “That’s kind of funny, though. I should have made it happen.”
Kody and Christine’s fiancé, David Woolley, were both present at Gwen’s wedding, leaving fans to speculate whether they met for the first time there. However, Gwen clarified that Kody and David had actually met before, but their first meeting didn’t take place at the wedding. She didn’t elaborate on the specifics of their initial meeting or how they reacted to seeing each other at her wedding. The details surrounding their first encounter and their interactions during the wedding remain undisclosed.
Previously, Gwen shared that she didn’t plan to have Kody walk her down the aisle. She confirmed that Kody indeed did not escort her down the aisle and shared the reasons behind her decision to go solo instead.
“I didn’t want to be walked, you know? I felt like if somebody would have walked me [down the aisle] that wasn’t my dad, it would have been a serious statement, so I was just like, ‘I’m just gonna go by myself,’” Gwen said.
Season 18 of Sister Wives premieres in August on TLC.
