‘RHOA’ RECAP: Kim Zolciak Returns and NOT Happy Kenya Moore’s Still Alive

Welcome back to a new episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. We begin with Drew Sidora playing with her kids while Kandi Burruss tries on clothes with Todd Tucker.

Sheree Whitfield’s at the doctor with her daughter and sister, Mary. Sheree’s trying to shrink her fibroids the natural way and believes a girls trip will do just the trick. While the doctors does acupuncture on Sheree, Marlo Hampton’s chatting with her friend/manager Tye about her recent date. Marlo’s being wined and dined by Scotley and tells Tye about their text exchange the next morning.

Marlo’s afraid to get close to someone but continues going with the flow. Dating is too much work for Marlo while Sanya Richards-Ross works on her Mommy Nation business. Sanya’s hosting her first ever charity event for Mommy Nation and works with her staff to get things rolling. 

Everyone’s stressed and on top of that Sanya’s auctioneer is sick with COVID. Sanya’s assistant suggest Kenya Moore step in as the auctioneer but Sanya’s hesitant. The assistant ask what Sanya has to lose and Sanya responds with “my dignity”. Meanwhile, Kenya and Monyetta Shaw-Carter are at a photoshoot for Kenya Moore Hair Care! Kenya’s devastated she missed out on performing in Birmingham but decided to use Monyetta’s choreography to create a commercial for her business. Kenya makes sure Brooklyn’s included and little mama did such a great job! On the side, Monyetta’s texting Kenya’s boyfriend Roi, who makes a surprising appearance. 

Kenya’s gushing from ear to ear as the two lovers embrace. Kenya introduces Brooklyn to Roi as Kenya shows Roi around the set. Roi likes what he sees as he brings them food and Kenya admits to being impressed. Kenya and Monyetta explain to Roi what’s happening on set as Roi leaves just as soon as he came. LOL. After Roi says his goodbyes, Sanya calls Kenya to ask for her help during the auction. Kenya’s happy to help but wishes Sanya booked her services through Kenya’s agent. Kenya ends the commercial by dancing with the band as we catch up with Drew the next day. Drew brags to Mama Jeanette and Allision about Josiah being the model student, before discussing the success of her music video. 

Drew wants to enjoy what she does without getting burnt out and Allison encourages Drew to participate in self-care. Drew tells Allison how much work she puts into managing her career and gives Allison her credit for all she’s done for Drew. Drew admits when Allison left she didn’t realize she was struggling so much. Allison reveals while being admitted to a psychiatric hospital, her past traumas resurfaced. Allison admits an ex-boyfriend physically abused her, which caused PTSD and anxiety. Allison gets emotional while thanking Drew for supporting her during this time. Allison admits she and Drew never had a sister relationship and the two agree to be sisters moving forward. 

That evening, Sheree’s meeting some old besties for dinner and first up is Lisa Wu. The two chat briefly before Deshawn Snow pulls up, looking gorgeous as Kim Zolciak follows suit. Sheree continues hanging with her old friends and after the table orders, the ladies get into the tea. Sheree compliments Kim’s smaller breast as Lisa tells Kim she doesn’t hate her anymore. The two hug as Lisa suggest the ladies go on vacation. Kim’s of course not going, and Sheree reveals she’s taking the ladies to Portugal! Poor Kenya thought Portugal was in Spain when Sheree invited her, but we keep moving. Sheree explains her fibroids journey, but Kim could care less since she’s eyeing the latest purse. Lisa gets Kim to refocus as Sheree discusses the divide in the group. 

Sheree names everyone who’s invited but Kim Zolciak’s upset Kenya’s still alive. Kim’s still upset about Kenya’s comment towards Kim’s daughter but changes topics to the night Kim met Kroy Biermann. Kim gushes over her marriage to Kroy as Lisa brings up Kim’s recent foreclosure. Kim continues lying as Deshawn changes subjects and Sheree tells the table about her new grandchild, Mecca. Sheree loves Mecca’s mother as Sheree continues thinking Mecca looks like her.

Sheree wonders what happened after the ladies left the show since both Lisa and Deshawn went through divorces. Luckily, Deshawn’s dating again and Kim wants to know if it’s fun in the dating world. *Side eye!* The ladies look at her crazy as Deshawn ask Lisa about her love life. Lisa’s having fun as Sheree discusses her relationship with Martel Holt. Kim discusses hugging Kandi at Porsha’s wedding but admits she’s far from being cool with Kandi. 

Kim chalks it up to just singing a hit song while Sheree starts singing it. The ladies toast to authenticity as Sanya gets ready for the charity event the next day. Kandi’s struggling as her assistant lays out her duties for the day and Drew’s loving on Josiah. Kenya’s struggling with her dress as Shari does Sanya’s hair in frustration. Apparently Sanya didn’t inform Shari of the itinerary for the day and now Shari’s stressed out from the misinformation. Sanya’s assistant comes over to run down the to-do list as Sanya tries to give Shari a compliment. Shari’s not in the mood and soon Sanya’s airing out their dirty laundry to the help! The sisters are tired of each other, but Sanya thinks her family should be used to her hectic schedule by now. However, Shari doesn’t think Sanya appreciates her and doesn’t consider the many jobs Shari does for Sanya. 

Shari explains the many moving parts and Sanya gets emotional as Shari explains her POV. Shari admits to being unhappy and Sanya cries while apologizing to Shari. Sanya’s event looks amazing and Sanya’s happy so many people came out to support Mommy Nation. The ladies begin arriving as Courtney Rhodes inquiries about the itinerary for the night. Sanya notices Kenya isn’t there and decides to give her a quick call to see what’s up. Kenya tells Sanya she’s been dealing with an emergency all day and that she’s confused by the seating arrangement. It appears Sanya has Kenya sitting separately from her plus one and doesn’t want to come if she can’t sit next to her boo! Sanya promises to make it work as the two agree on a compromise. Sheree ask Marlo about her date and Marlo tells the ladies how well it went. 

The ladies have multiple opinions about what dude fits Marlo’s style, while Marlo just thanked God her acid reflux was under control. Kandi arrives and giggles over getting the seating number sixty-nine. Monyetta ask Kandi if she’s talked to Kenya but unfortunately Kandi hasn’t spoken to anyone since coming back in town. Sanya appreciates Kandi for supporting her but takes notice that Kandi’s missed a few other events. Sanya jokes that she’s Kandi’s favorite since Kandi’s making the effort. Sanya starts to become anxious when she realizes Kenya’s an hour and a half late! Drew arrives as Sanya decides to host her own event and gets things started. Kenya arrives as Sanya speaks on stage and doesn’t look a bit concerned over her tardiness.   

As awards are being presented, Sheree inquiries about Shari but Sanya opts to fill Sheree in later. Sanya prepares to present the last award and gives a special shoutout to her friend who just became a Glam-ma! Sheree gets emotional as Sanya brings Kairo out to present Sheree with her award. So sweet! Kairo thanks Sheree for always being there and being a wonderful mother. Sheree’s blown away and appreciates the love being displayed. Sanya chats with Kenya about the auction and quickly get things situated as Kenya takes the stage. Marlo hates on Kenya’s attire as Kenya hypes the crowd up to raise one-hundred-thousand dollars since the ladies table is 50K by itself LOL. 

Kandi and Drew discuss their percentage of the 50K as Kenya accepts the first bid for five thousand dollars. Kandi turns around and matches Kenya for another five-thousand dollars as Sanya educates the crowd on the value of their donations. Monyetta bids 5K next as Kenya calls out Sheree and Marlo to pitch in. Kenya does an amazing job as Drew donates 5K as Courtney bids two-thousand-five hundred dollars. In total, Sanya raised seventy-eight-thousand dollars. Close enough! Sanya thanks the ladies for coming out as they walk out together after an amazing event. After the episode, we get the explosive mid-season trailer, and it looks like the tea is getting hot in Atlanta!
