Larsa Pippen Granted 50% of Ex Scottie Pippen’s Chicago Bulls Retirement
Larsa Pippen has been granted a significant amount of ex-husband Scottie Pippen’s retirement plan.
According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the Real Housewives of Miami star, has been named as an alternate payee on the former NBA superstar’s Chicago Bulls 401k Savings Plan Trust. The mother of four will be awarded fifty percent of the amount calculated closest to the former couple’s legal date of separation, November 3, 2016.
The judge approved the release of funds to Larsa Pippen’s bank account as soon as administratively possible on June 16, 2023. The reality star will receive the money in a lump sum. In addition, she is to receive the total amount owed regardless of the account’s current balance.
“To the extent, there are no assets in his account sufficient to satisfy the assignment benefit on the date a separate account is established for (Larsa), the order should be interpreted as an award of 100% of (Scottie’s) vested account balance,” the legal document states.
Scottie Pippen married Larsa Pippen on July 20, 1997, when the Bravolebrity was 23. Scottie Pippen, 32 then, was at the height of his NBA career, winning his 5th championship with the Chicago Bulls.
In 2016 the exes filed for divorce but later reconciled. It was reported that the couple was working on saving their union. Unable to work through their differences, the Pippens filed to end their marriage the following year. After 24 years of marriage and four children, the couple’s divorce was finalized in December 2021.
Larsa Pippen, 48, has since moved on. The reality star had the entire world talking when she was spotted cozying up to Marcus Jordan, the 32-year-old son of Scottie Pippen’s former teammate and rival Michael Jordan, in September 2022. All About the Tea reported that the lovebirds initially denied their relationship, claiming they were just friends.
During an appearance on Tamron Hall earlier this year, the host asked the reality tv star why she chose to date Marcus given Scottie’s hostile relationship with Michael Jordan. “I can’t basically explain how someone else feels. That’s how Scottie feels and he has a right to feel the way,” Larsa explained.
“I personally don’t really care about other people out here. I feel like I live my truth. I’m happy. I feel like we get along. He’s my best friend. And so as your best friend, I feel like we have a lot in common,” she added.
Jordan and Pippen have yet to comment on Marcus’ relationship with Larsa.
