Kylie Jenner’s company, Kylie Cosmetics, has been hit with a lawsuit filed by a model who claims that she did not get paid on time.
A model named Sasha Palma is suing Kylie’s company and is asking for a six-figure payout. The outlet reports that the model is alleging that she was hired for a couple of photo shoots to model the beauty mogul’s cosmetic products. She claims that she was hired back in June 2020 for a one-day shoot at a daily rate of $2k. Palma says that she should’ve received payment by early July, and that the beauty biz missed the payment deadline by more than 30 days.
A representative for Kylie’s business is denying the allegation.
Palma alleges that Kylie’s company intentionally chose not to pay her on time and claims that she is now owed penalties that have ballooned to $60k. The lawsuit explains that the same scenario played out when she was hired for a second one-day photo session in August 2020. Palma claims that she did not receive her $2k check within the 30 day deadline, which now supposedly entitles her to another $60k.
Palma is now seeking $120k to cover both allegedly ignored payment deadlines.
A rep for Kylie’s Cosmetics told the outlet that Palma was paid before NET 45 days per her invoice for both photo shoots. The rep also claims to have proof that both invoices were paid in full.
An insider told the outlet that it was possible that the model’s agent didn’t hand over the payment in a timely manner. The source also spilled that the same model later asked Kylie’s company for a letter of recommendation, which they declined to provide.
The tipster alleged that the team repping the model tried to get Palma more gigs with Kylie’s brand after the 2020 photo sessions mentioned in the lawsuit.
Kylie made headlines back in February when the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum was hit with backlash for throwing her daughter, Stormi Webster, an Astroworld-themed birthday party following the tragic chain of events that unfolded at a festival by the same name, only three months earlier.
In November 2021, a deadly crowd crush occurred during the first night of the 2021 Astroworld Festival, a music event founded by Kylie Jenner‘s baby daddy and rapper, Travis Scott. Eight people died on the night of the concert, which was held at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, and two later died in the hospital.
