‘RHONJ’ Stars Joe and Melissa Gorga Sued Over Injury and Negligence
Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga are facing a fiery lawsuit. A woman has stepped forward, claiming to have suffered a distressing injury while on a property owned and entrusted to the Gorgas for its upkeep.
According to court documents, the incident involved a woman named Blanca Hernandez, who alleges that a fateful encounter at the couple’s New Jersey property on January 27, 2021, left her in a state of distress. Hernandez had no prior connection with the Gorgas before her ill-fated stay at their property.
Hernandez has alleged that the property was maintained in a “negligent, careless, and reckless manner,” resulting in her injury.
She claims to have suffered a wide range of injuries, enduring excruciating pain and ongoing suffering. The consequences of this incident have resulted in substantial medical expenses, permanent injuries, and a combination of physical and emotional trauma. Hernandez claims she faced immense anguish, loss of wages, and other significant damages.
“diverse injuries, great pain, and suffering, and has incurred and will continue in the future to incur extensive medical expenses, permanent injuries, suffered physical and emotional injuries of both a temporary and permanent nature, suffered considerable pain and anguish, loss of wages” and “other special damages.” The court documents read.
Hernandez has taken legal action by filing a lawsuit on December 12, 2022, seeking unspecified damages. Simultaneously, she has requested that Melissa and Joe, along with their company, Gorga Enterprises, Inc, preserve any and all physical and electronic evidence related to her employment.
This strategic move demonstrates Hernandez’s determination to uncover the truth and ensure that all relevant information is preserved for the ongoing legal proceedings.
Joe and Melissa Gorga vehemently denied any allegations of negligence in their official response filed on April 24, 2023. In a clear and definitive stance, the couple refutes the claims made against them, challenging the notion that they were at fault in any way.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey couple claim that Hernandez is responsible for her own injuries — arguing adamantly that they bear no liability in this situation.
“[Hernandez’s] injuries and damages, if any, were the result of circumstances over which this/these Defendant(s) had no control or right of control and this/these Defendant(s) is/are not liable therefore,” their response states.
The Bravo stars are demanding a complete dismissal of the entire lawsuit, signaling their firm belief in their innocence. Simultaneously, they have requested the court to order Hernandez to grant them access to her medical records.
