Andy Cohen Suggests Raquel Leviss Was Drugged During the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Reunion
Andy Cohen believes that Raquel Leviss may have been “really medicated” while rehashing her affair with Tom Sandoval on the Vanderpump Rules reunion.
Raquel Leviss aloofly apologized for her role in the affair that led to Sandoval’s split from his nine-year girlfriend, Ariana Madix, and her demeanor left Andy Cohen drop-jawed.
“I was worried for Raquel’s mental health going into the reunion. I mean, I still am,” Cohen told Variety in an episode of “Making a Scene.”
He went on — “But actually, when I saw how unemotional she was, it made me think she was either really medicated or really out of touch with her role in everything.”
The Watch What Happens Live host also reacted to Raquel Leviss’ odd response to her former pal, Scheana Shay’s emotional breakdown.
“When Scheana is crying her eyes out and [Raquel] says in the trailer, ‘I should have written her a note’ — I found that very confusing. It made me think that maybe there was something she was missing about what these relationships were,” Cohen said.
“It made me think that maybe she didn’t think they were as real as the other people thought. I didn’t understand.”
Scheana Shay, 38, also weighed in on Raquel’s countenance during a separate segment of the Variety interview.
“It was lights on, no-one’s home,” she said of Raquel’s seemingly unemotional behavior. “[It was] bizarre. I never could have imagined that reaction because the Raquel who I was friends with wasn’t that person.”
The reunion ended when Raquel, 28, revealed the teased “bombshell” revelation—that she and Sandoval had been secretly hooking up for longer than the pair originally stated. The former pageant queen also confirmed that the covert couple did have sex in the home he was sharing with Madix at the time.
“This has f–king killed my soul,” Raquel tearfully said in a confessional. “I’m so sick of lying, I hate it. I hate being deceitful, it’s horrible.”
Raquel alleged that Sandoval pressed her to lie about the timeline detail because he felt it would be “less hurtful” to Madix if they said that the secret romance “wasn’t going on for so long.”
Fans were less than impressed by the so-called “big twist,” which had been hyped in the press by executive producer, Alex Baskin. He told Variety that the cast needed to hear the “new information” before making individual decisions to return for filming season.
One fan wrote on Twitter — “The reveal was quite underwhelming. I mean how much worse could it get. I’m ready for it to die down now. #PumpRules #pumprulesreunion.”
Another person agreed — “So the ‘big reveal’ was that Raquel admitted to hooking up with Sandoval more than once? Girl that’s not some huge reveal. It was so OBVIOUS that they did. I was expecting something more scandalous but I guess. #pumprulesreunion.”
A third viewer tweeted — “The reunion was a letdown with lala [Kent] & James [Kennedy] shouting & not letting anyone speak!! What was the big reveal?? Raquel & Tom had sex in Mexico?? That was not big news!!”
