Major Changes Expected for the ‘Today’ Show, Fans Rejoice
Today show news anchor, Dylan Dreyer, also an accomplished children’s book author, is being applauded by fans after her newest book earned an accolade from Penguin Random House’s “Step Into Reading” program.
In April, Dreyer announced that she would be adding a new title to her “Misty the Cloud” children’s book series. The following month, “Misty the Cloud: Fun Is in the Air” hit the shelves and won rave reviews. It shot to new release best seller status on Amazon before earning the prestigious shout-out from a program designed to help young scholars succeed at any reading level.
Dreyer took to Instagram to thank fans for making the honor possible.
“THANK YOU!!! Not only has your support and excitement for Misty the Cloud gotten a ‘Step Into Reading’ into the top spot for weather books, but Misty rounds out the top 3!! Go Misty!!!” the daytime personality wrote on May 3.
Today show fans flooded her comments section with kudos and supportive messages in response to her recent achievement.
One fan cheered—“This is awesome … You’re awesome – is there anything you can’t do!!! 👏🏻👍🏻.”
Another chimed in—“Got all three for my weather obsessed five year old and she can’t get enough.”
A third user agreed—“Congratulations!! We love, love, love this book in our house 💜💜💜💜.”
“Misty the Cloud: Fun Is in the Air” is the third installment in Dreyer’s popular kids’ series. Misty the Cloud: A Stormy Day was released in October 2021 and “Misty the Cloud: Friends Through Rain or Shine” hit the market in September 2022.
The Today host also recently announced that brand new episodes of Earth Odyssey will premiere on NBC, this summer. Dreyer recently taped her 500th episode of the nature series.
The happy news comes after the NBC broadcaster opened up about her son’s frightening medical diagnosis. Last week, she explained that her eldest boy, Calvin, experienced “excruciating pain,” which led to a Celiac Disease diagnosis.
Dreyer explained to Today viewers that her eldest son had experienced extreme symptoms after eating, which led to medical intervention and testing. Doctors discovered that he was suffering from Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disorder that reacts to gluten in the diet.
She explained that Cal’s condition has drastically improved since cutting gluten from his diet. She described scrubbing and sanitizing the family kitchen and disposing of pots and pans that may have once held gluten, to eliminate any possibility of “cross contamination.”
“The goal, for me, has to been just make this as easy and smooth as possible for Calvin,” Dreyer said, tearing up. “So, at this point, he doesn’t even know what I’ve been through to make his life so easy.”
She added—”I’ve been making so many gluten-free recipes. It seems to be paying off. He likes what I’ve been making. He feel so much better.”
