Mary Cosby ‘RHOSLC’ Return CONFIRMED After Jen Shah’s Exit
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay confirmed Mary Cosby’s return to the Bravo reality series.
Heather Gay enthusiastically nodded her head and said “Yes. All of it, yes,” to a TikToker, who asked the reality star during a book event.
Mary Cosby, 50, first made her debut on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in the first season, where she quickly became a fan favorite due to her unique personality and humorous outlook on life. She was a regular cast member in the first season but her role was downgraded to a friend role in the second season, which left many fans disappointed.
As previously reported, Heather Gay, who is a 50-year-old preacher and author of “Bad Mormon,” would return for Season 4. The season began filming on February 13, just days before Jen Shah, a former star of the show, began her prison sentence for fraud.
According to Page Six, Mary Cosby was not brought on board as a full-time “Housewife” — but rather as a “friend of” who would appear in a few scenes with the cast.
The insider also stated that Mary had expressed a desire to return to the show. However, another source revealed that she needed time to come to terms with the racist controversy involving former RHOSLC cast member, Jennie Nguyen.
Jennie was fired over resurfaced racist Facebook posts that depicted the Black Lives Matter movement in a derogatory manner. Andy Cohen and the RHOSLC cast condemned Jennie’s posts, but Lisa Barlow continued to support her disgraced ex co-star.
“I think that everyone in life deserves a second chance,” Lisa told TMZ in March 2022. “That’s what we’re trying to do, just be a little bit better every single day, hopefully, we learn from our mistakes and don’t make them again.”
Lisa Barlow shared that she texted Jennie to wish her well after she was terminated. She told the outlet that Jennie’s firing had been “hard” on all the Utah “Housewives.”
Lisa revealed that she’s all about second chances when asked if she believed that her former castmate should get another chance on the Bravo show.
Jennie Nguyen was dismissed in January 2022 — following just one season on the show.
“Mary was dealing with a lot of trauma after Season 2,” the insider told outlet of Mary Cosby, who notably skipped the Season 2 reunion before exiting the show altogether in February 2022.
“Jennie’s racist posts really seemed to shake Mary, especially after Jennie threw a glass at her on camera,” the insider went on. “Mary was grateful for the time away from the cameras, but she seems ready to get back in the mix.”
Mary Cosby left the Bravo show amid slanderous allegations against her and her church, which have been unfounded.
Producers plan to bring in fresh faces, who will bring new perspectives and ideas to the Bravo reality series. The addition of Mary as a friend is a great example of this, as she is sure to bring a revived level of excitement to the show. Her unique personality and humorous outlook on life are sure to keep viewers entertained, and her return is sure to be a hit among fans.
Mary’s return to Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is a sign that the show is still going strong, despite rumors of cancellation after Jen Shah’s departure to prison.
Many fans look forward to seeing Mary interact with the other cast members. With Mary back in the mix, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is sure to flourish, with increased ratings for the network.
Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose, Heather Gay, and Meredith Marks — are all expected to return for Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
