Peter Thomas Found NOT Guilty Of Choking Tammy Riveria’s Cousin
On Wednesday, Peter Thomas walked out of a courthouse with his head held high, informing his Instagram followers that he had been acquitted after being accused of choking a woman in Baltimore.
Peter Thomas has been found not guilty of allegedly choking a woman at his Baltimore restaurant while under the influence.
As reported, Chanel Williams, who is Tammy Rivera’s niece, made a comment about Peter Thomas being excessively drunk at his own establishment. She called him a “p*ssy drunk,” which the former reality television personality overheard. Peter was said to have become furious and reportedly attempted to grab the victim’s throat while staff members intervened and attempted to calm the situation.
In less than an hour of deliberation, the jury in Baltimore Circuit Court acquitted the 62-year-old of second-degree assault.
Warren Brown, Peter’s attorney, expressed satisfaction with the outcome and stated, “This man is 62, has led a stellar life, built a successful business. And I think the jury rendered the right verdict.”
Peter quoted a scripture in an Instagram video he posted after his acquittal, expressing gratitude for the outcome and maintaining that he was “protected.” He also advised his followers to avoid causing situations that could lead to legal trouble, as he had experienced.
He stated, “They keep coming after me, but I tell them that I am protected. They are trying to harm me in various ways, but I am protected, alright?”

Tammy Rivera was made aware of the verdict and took to her Instagram Story a few hours later — claiming that her niece had indeed been assaulted by Peter Thomas.
Peter Thomas has been at the center of numerous controversies, most of which have centered on his restaurants.
In 2020, Peter’s ex-wife and Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Cynthia Bailey, accused him of owing $450,000 in unpaid taxes associated with one of his restaurants.
Then in 2021, some of Peter’s restaurant staff members accused him of writing bad paychecks that bounced, prompting the IRS to freeze his bank accounts. Peter denied these allegations.
In 2019, Peter closed his sports bar and restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, after receiving a $237,000 tax lien. Peter reported spending six days in jail as a result of the matter.
Also in 2019, Peter was arrested at Miami Airport. Authorities took Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband into custody at Miami International Airport on a “fugitive warrant–out of state extradite” from Louisiana for allegedly writing fraudulent checks. View Peter’s mugshot below.
Other allegations have also surfaced, such as in 2014 when his Atlanta restaurant landlord claimed that over $100,000 was owed in unpaid rent. Once again — Peter denied the accusations — claiming he was being falsely accused.
