‘Married At First Sight’ Fans Are NOT Happy Over This Latest Development
Season 16 of Married At First Sight already has viewers in their feelings after the latest development in the reality series. In this week’s episode, the couples finally go to their honeymoons — except for one couple.
This season’s couples are all from Tennessee, and so far, they seem to be getting along well. The cast of the Lifetime show includes Kristen and Shaquille, Airris and Jasmine, Christopher and Nicole, Clint and Gina, Mack and Domynique, Lindy and Miguel, Krysten Mitch, and Alexis and Justin. The four couples who stay together are shocked when they are told their honeymoon will be in Jamaica.
One couple that won’t be going to Jamaica on the first day is Shaquille and Kristen because Shaquille has to go back to school. As Kristen was excited to begin their honeymoon in Jamaica, she got some unexpected news from her husband.
Shaq revealed, “I’m still in school and I have a research conference this week so I have to present my research, so we’re not going to the honeymoon tomorrow. I have to travel to Jackson, Mississippi, so you will be traveling to Jackson, Mississippi to actually come to class with me.”
Married At First Sight fans were excited to see the couples go on their honeymoon and get to know each other better. However, Wednesday’s episode was slammed by fans for being shorter than the previous episodes since this season began earlier this year.
One fan went after the producers on Twitter and said, “So they’ve found a way to drag the season even longer by cutting eps short.”
Another said, “So they give us 6 hours of weddings then cut us short.”
A third fan tweeted, “Lifetime really pissed me off with cutting the episodes short.”
“No, we want the 2 hour episodes when it’s the meat of the season, them wedding episodes could’ve been cut short.” a fourth said.
Not everyone was upset about the episodes becoming shorter, and they aren’t going to miss the usual 2-hour episodes. Another issue viewers had with Wednesday’s episode involved one of the contestants, Clint. After Clint took off his shirt as his wife was getting ready for bed, fans took to Twitter to tell him to put his shirt back on. Viewers said how “crept” out they were at how Clint described consummating his marriage with his new wife, Gina.
One person tweeted, “Clint is ready for number 66 even though he was with someone 2 weeks ago. Don’t know about y’all but he’s giving me the ick, and the show hasn’t even started.”
Another wrote, “i’m not a clint fan, ima just say that now. he has an air about him that stinks.”
“Something about Clint… he just bothers me. I do want to be wrong but I do not trust him. I do like Gina and she seems like a sweetheart but why pair her with Clint?” a third Married At First Sight fan wondered.
During Clint’s meetup with Gina’s family, some family members saw red flags in their relationship. Clint got to meet Gina’s brother, Marc, and his sister-in-law, Isabel, and they had an open discussion about their relationship. Isabel asked him what would make him break up with Gina during their meeting.
Clint confidently responded, “If we’re just hard-headed and we’re not trying to discover each other’s viewpoints — it’s things like that. We’re gonna run up against some issues.” He continued, “There’s gonna be some conflict, [that’s] just natural. But it’s how you deal with it.”
After their meetup, Marc told the cameras that Clint seems great so far, but Isabel says she sees a red flag. She said, “They’re so similar. So, I don’t know… They really gotta sit down and figure out what they can learn from each other and what the other one can do better than the other.”
