Savannah Chrisley Pissed Jen Shah Got Off Easy, While Her Parents Received Harsh Sentences
Savannah Chrisley blasted the judicial system for giving Jen Shah a lenient prison sentence, while throwing the book at her parents.
As reported, Todd Chrisley, 53, was sentenced to 12 years in prison and 16 months probation for his crimes, while Julie Chrisley was sentenced to seven years and 16 months probation. Their daughter Savannah thinks their sentencing is not fair compared to what Jen Shah got for her horrible crimes against the elderly.
On Tuesday’s episode of her podcast, Unlocked, Savannah said, “Put the cases side by side, and it makes no sense –it just doesn’t.” The 25-year-old compared their cases and said, unlike Jen, who had thousands of victims in her nationwide scheme, Todd and Julie’s victims were the banks and the IRS.
Savannah continued, “There were hundreds of victims who were elderly, and people that provided statements that lost their homes, threatened to end their lives. There were so many different things, and she got six and a half years. Make that make sense.”
After being found guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and tax evasion, the Chrisleys were collectively sentenced to 19 years in prison. The podcast host continued, “You have someone who has not admitted to guilt and who will stand firm in that. We’re standing by our truth that it is not guilty; there are no victims.”
Jen Shah, 49, was sentenced to 78 months in prison after she pleaded guilty to a count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Federal prosecutors said Shah was a leader of a “nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme” that victimized thousands of elderly people.
When Julie Chrisley appeared on a pre-recorded episode of the Unlocked podcast, she agreed with her daughter’s sentiments. Julie, 50, said that, unlike Jen’s case, their case didn’t include any victim statements.
“None of this adds up, and to me, there’s more to it,” Julie stated. “I have committed myself to figuring out what that is and for us to get to the other side of this so that we can help other people who are going through things like this.”
The pre-recorded episode was released hours before Julie and Todd reported to separate prisons.
Julie began her seven-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Marianna in Florida. Todd is only two hours away, serving his 12-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola. The couple reported to prison on Tuesday, January 17.
Todd has been married to Julie since 1996, and they have three kids together, Chase, 26, Savannah, 25, and Grayson, 16. The Chrisley Knows Best star also has two kids with his ex, Teresa Terry — Lindsie, 33, and Kyle, 31. They also adopted Kyle’s daughter, Chloe, 10. Savannah revealed that she will get custody of Chloe and Grayson after her parents go to prison.
Another shocking revelation the 25-year-old made was that she would not marry or have kids while her parents were in prison. “In my mind, I’m like, I can’t move on with my life. Until I know they’re going to be there, I can’t get married. I can’t have a kid.” Savannah continued to say that she feels like she is “grieving the loss of parents that are still alive.”
In response, Emmy Medders, who is engaged to Chase Chrisley, encouraged her not to put her life on hold because her parents were going to prison.
During a December 2022 episode of Savannah’s Unlocked podcast, Medders said, “You can’t just stop your life. And your parents, our parents, wouldn’t want us to do that, no matter what happens.”
Savannah revealed that her father had encouraged her to move on no matter how tough it got.
“Dad was like, ‘I must not be here in front of you, but I’m still alive. I’m still fighting. You don’t have to live a day without speaking to me.'”
Chase, on his part, said their situation felt like”going through hell.”
“It is a terrible, terrible situation, but I have to try to find the good even in the darkest times.”
