Todd and Julie Chrisley Surrender To Prison To Begin Serving 19 Years Combined
Sad day for Todd and Julie Chrisley, the couple have officially surrendered to their respective prisons to begin serving time for tax fraud.
The Chrisley Knows Best were sentenced to a combined 19 years for fraud and tax evasion, according to court documents.
Todd, 53, was sentenced to 12 years at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida. Meanwhile, Julie, 50, was sentenced to 7 years, and will be housed at Federal Medical Center Lexington in Lexington, K.Y. She was initially suppose to serve her time in Florida, near Todd at Federal Correctional Institution Marianna.
Additionally, Julie will have 16-months of probation after her release from prison.
Last week, Todd and Julie Chrisley’s appeal of their conviction was denied. A bail request that would have extended their surrender date by 21 days was also dismissed.
As reported, Todd Chrisley will go from riches to rags once he enters prison in 2023 … he’ll be cleaning toilets in the pokey.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Todd will earn as little as 12 cents an hour, cleaning the stinky toilets in prison. There are 4 different pay grade levels, the lowest being toilet duty $0.12 then, $0.17, $0.29 and $0.40 being the highest.
As per the Inmate Work and Performance Pay Rules, “Sentenced inmates who are physically and mentally able to work are required to participate in the work program.”
In June, Todd, 53, and Julie Chrisley, 49, were convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax fraud.
During the couple’s trial, Todd’s ex-business partner, Mark Braddock, accused the reality star of cheating on Julie with him and that they paid off a blackmailer to keep the alleged gay affair a secret.
Todd has vehemently denied Braddock’s allegations.
Julie said she was worried over being “separated” from Todd for an extended period while in the slammer.
She shared advice from a friend, “the tears that you shed are sewing the seeds for your future,” she noted that the quote “has been such a source of strength for me because I have not typically been a crier and this whole experience has truly taken me to my knees.”
The couple married on May 25, 1996, while Julie was nine months pregnant with their first child. They share three kids together — Chase, 26, Savannah, 25, and Grayson, 16. Todd also has two kids with ex-wife Teresa Terry: Lindsie, 33, and Kyle, 31.
Additionally, Todd and Julie adopted Kyle’s daughter, Chloe, 10, after the recovering addict lost custody in 2016.
Savannah will assume custody of her niece, Chloe, and brother Grayson.
