Fans Believe Leah Messer and Jaylan Mobley Broke Up Because He’s Gay
According to fans, Leah Messer and Jay Mobley’s break up stems from the MTV star discovering her military man is gay and now she’s being forced to keep his secret private.
Leah Messer appeared on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter reunion and told the hosts, Dr. Drew and Nessa Diab, that her year and a half relationship with Jay Mobley was a complete lie.
In addressing her break up from Jay, the mom of three said, “A breakup sucks I’m hurt I’m sad, but I’m also not going to fall victim to my circumstances.” Messer added that she wasn’t going to let this heartbreak stop her and she was going to move on. “I’m gonna move forward, I’m going to go through the emotions, I’m going to get through it.”
Leah hinted at Jay being gay when she stated, “At the end of the day we all have a story to tell and as of now it’s not time to tell our story.”
The MTV star did say that she was in a great place with Jay but her relationship with him had taught her that, “We’re in a great place and honestly sometimes love looks like letting go.” Messer admitted that she still loves Mobley wholeheartedly, but letting go was the best thing for them.
Dr. Drew went through a list of possible reasons for their split including cheating, at which Leah interrupted, “I think that’s for Jaylen to speak on in his own time.” When the reunion co-host Nessa Diab asked Leah if she cheated, one of them denied it completely. When Pinsky suggested that their split was because of someone not being who they said they were, Messer said Jay would be better suited to answer that question.
The Teen Mom star said she couldn’t share some parts of her relationship because it’s not her place. “I think eventually he will share but it’s not my place to…” Fans think Leah meant that Jay deserved the right to “come out” on his own. Messer said that as she was discovering things in the relationship, she was confused and thought she had been living a lie all this time.
Leah also revealed that, in the property settlement, she signed a non-disclosure that stops her from talking about her split from Jaylen. “I agreed to not share…. so legally I can not share.” The MTV star also revealed that her kids know about everything.

Messer has three kids: twins, Aliannah and Aleenah, and Adalynn. She said they know everything about what happened and even want to keep hanging out with Jay. When Dr. Drew asked, “Is there something about who he is that you are just accepting?”
Leah answered, “Yes, You can’t change someone. Also if you are in that place … you know who you are, how can you expect me to have a romantic relationship with you?” Messer’s comments left more questions than answers in viewers’ minds. Some fans speculated on Teen Mom’s official Instagram account.
One person guessed, “I definitely think he cheated on her with a guy like others have said in the past. I never thought that but the questions/answers here make it seem that way.”
Another fan tweeted, “Leah is giving off Jaylan might be gay vibes. Idk what he gave her to sign a NDA but damn she better of got a damn good deal out of it bc I highly doubt he let her have the house specially after not even putting her name on it.”
Leah and Jay split up two months after they announced their engagement.
In a joint statement to In Touch on October 11, the former couple said, “While the last year has been tremendously exciting for both of us, we’ve realized that it’s best we walk separate paths. We are so grateful for the lessons, growth, and memories we’ve had in this relationship.”
