Whoopi Apologizes on The View Says ‘It’s Her Fault’
Whoopi Goldberg apologized for interrupting one of her co-hosts on The View during Thursday’s show episode.
During the recent episode of the show, the ladies invited Nancy Pelosi’s daughter Alexandra Pelosi and she spoke on a range of topics including some of her mother’s friends. Alexandra revealed to the co-hosts that Nancy is close friends with former president George Bush, despite their disagreeing with each other publicly. Before Alexandra could finish, Whoopi stepped in and said, “They [opposing parties] don’t seem to be able to have these conversations anymore.”
Whoopi, 67, kept speaking and took up most of the time before they went on commercial.
“I grew up with people feeling differently, and … you always say, ‘Ok. We agree to disagree.’ Now, people don’t have that ability. And I don’t know why we can’t slip back to it. Oh ok. It’s my fault. I’ve been talking too much. We’re going to come right back with more from Alexandra Pelosi,” The View host said as she looked at the camera and giggled before the show zoomed out to go to commercial.
The show’s moderator also apologized earlier this week to co-host Sunny Hostin after she interrupted her. During the show, the ladies talked about marriage and how it is not the best path in life for everybody. When Alyssa Farah spoke about her mother deciding never to get married again, Sunny said, “It is not for everyone.” Whoopi then interrupted her co-host, saying, “I dunno, I’ve been sitting here with you guys for how long telling you this very thing! It’s not for everybody.”
Joy Behar pointed out to the Sister Act actress, “And you tried it.” Whoopi then explained that she tried it a couple of times but should have just been honest that she didn’t want to be married.
“I don’t want to share, I don’t want to exchange how I feel about what you’ve done, don’t come in my house!” Whoopi exclaimed. Sunny interjected, “I just find that so strange because you’re such a generous person.”
Whoopi continued, “I’m very generous, but that’s my choice and I don’t want anybody questioning my generosity… ‘Why you doing that for them?’ I don’t want to talk to y’all about that!”
Then Whoopi remembered Hostin was speaking earlier and said, “Oh my God, Sunny! Sorry, I forgot you had something to say, go ahead!” before Sunny introduced her pre-recorded infomercial.
