‘RHOBH’ Season 13 Production Kicks Off In January — Kathy Hilton’s Return Remains Uncertain
Production for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills kicks off in late January, but the Season 13 cast has yet to be determined, Radar Online reports.
Bravo stars, Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Garcelle Beauvais, Dorit Kemsley, and Sutton Stracke are all expecting to receive their contracts from Bravo within a few weeks, according to the report. A source told the outlet that Kathy Hilton’s return remains a question mark as the cast “friend” is “being wishy-washy” about rejoining the group. Sources also revealed that unpopular rookie, Diana Jenkins, will not return, adding that Crystal Kung Minkoff’s future on the show remains uncertain. However, all of the ladies are in the same position at this point—with no Season 13 contract in hand.
The Season 12 cast, sans Diana, reunited at the People’s Choice Awards last week, after Bravo aired a tumultuous Season 12. Insiders alleged that a few of the ladies felt positive about the gathering, despite the outward awkwardness. Lisa, Erika, Dorit, and Sutton were the only RHOBH cast members initially scheduled to attend the Los Angeles awards event. Garcelle was reportedly busy with work and not expected to attend and Kyle and Kathy decided to show up only two days ahead of the production. Crystal’s appearance wasn’t confirmed until the morning of the day of the show.
The show purportedly postponed filming the upcoming season to allow the production team a break after a dramatic season. The ladies are reportedly anxious to find out how the Season 13 cast shakes out.
In October, Kathy said that she would not return to the Bravo series if the Season 12 cast remained unchanged. The popular socialite spoke to Us Weekly during BravoCon, a lively three-day fan convention in New York City.
The outlet asked Kathy if she would come back for Season 13 if there were no changes to the cast.
“If it’s the same exact cast? Absolutely not,” Kathy responded immediately.
She added—“But I’m just a ‘friend,’ so it doesn’t matter.”
Fans know that Kathy was accused of having a “psychotic break” during a particularly messy cast trip to Aspen, last season. Drama exploded during the group getaway after Kathy allegedly melted down while visiting a local nightclub. Lisa Rinna pushed the narrative into the spotlight after accompanying Kathy back to Kyle’s vacation house.
Rinna said—“She said things like ”I am going to take down NBC, Bravo, I will take down this show, single-handedly, I will f***ing ruin you all.”’
Kathy apologized for her behavior on the show but rejected Rinna’s version of events. She later slammed Rinna as the “biggest bully in Hollywood” during the reunion series.
Fans sided with Kathy amid Rinna’s campaign to spotlight her co-star’s alleged “meltdown,” later booing Rinna and cheering Kathy during BravoCon weekend.
