Kandi Burruss Feuding With Xscape Band Member
Kandi Burruss clapped back at her Xscape bandmate, LaTocha Scott, after LaTocha claimed she didn’t get the memo about outfits the group wore to an awards show.
The members of the girl group Xscape — Kandi Burruss, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle, LaTocha Scott, and Tamika Scott — attended this year’s BET Soul Train Awards. Kandi, Tiny, and Tamika all wore shimmery silver dresses while LaTocha stood out in a bright green belted dress, setting her apart from her bandmates. She addressed the mismatch on her social media and said she just didn’t get the memo. “Still on a high from last night. So Grateful to receive the #LadyOfSoul Award. To still be embraced after 29 years is very humbling. Thank you to all of the Xscape Fans who’ve supported us throughout the years, and Thank you to BET for giving us our flowers. Make sure you tune in to the #SoulTrainAwards on November 26th to see us do our thing.”
Scott also revealed why she wore the green dress in her caption, “**Sorry, I didn’t get the memo, but everyone still looked amazing.” After sharing the post on her Instagram, Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kandi, didn’t like Scott’s explanation and cleared things up in her comment section. Burruss said, “@Iamlatocha the only thing for people to know is that you chose to have a separate stylist from the rest of the group.” She continued, “You chose to separate yourself do not blame us for that. Stop continuing to put out false narratives.”
Their red carpet outfits aren’t the only thing the Xscape members are disagreeing on. According to TMZ, the band is going on tour, but Scott won’t be joining them this time. The news outlet states that LaTocha’s manager, who is also her husband, Rocky Bivens, got into a conflict with the tour’s promoter. When Scott requested the promoter be changed, the group refused, which led to her choosing not to tour with Xscape. Despite the ongoing feud in the group, they have a new Bravo show featuring all the members coming out soon.
As per Deadline, the new show will follow the members of Xscape and SWV as they come together to prepare for another epic performance that promises to ignite their music careers. The series’ description reads, “From celebrating the power of collaboration and sisterhood to pushing to overcome obstacles, there is no shortage of wonder in watching two of the most iconic female R&B groups of the ’90s come together for this multi-part limited series.”
