90 Day Fiance’s Karine Staehle Creates GoFundMe For Custody Battle Over Sons!
90 Day Fiancé star, Karine Staehle, is asking fans for help amid her court battle to gain custody over her two sons.
After Paul and Karine’s abusive behavior came to light, their two sons were taken from them by Child Protective Custody. Since then, Karine has done everything she could to regain custody over her sons Ethan, 3, and Pierre, 20 months, while Paul fled to Brazil. Now, Karine is asking fans to help her raise enough money through GoFundMe for a good lawyer to take her case. On November 4, Karine posted the fundraiser on her Instagram Stories and pleaded with fans to help her if they can.
In the description, Karine, 26, wrote, “My two Brazilian children were taken from me by American CPS because me and my husband argued in front of our children [sic]. They will not give me an opportunity to get my kids back.” The Brazilian native continued to say that because she was a foreigner, CPS was denying her an opportunity to be with her kids despite her being fully compliant with their requirements. “It seems because I am Brazilian. They revoked my children’s passports and made it clear my children will not return to Brazil where they were born. Please help me hire a lawyer.”
In a video interview posted the same day, Paul told blogger Johnny Yates that he and Karine were working as a team to try and get their children back. “Me and Karine are friends. We talk constantly, we’re good. I tell Karine, maybe we should get the Brazilian embassy involved at this point.” Paul also revealed that he can’t see the kids until they are 18 years old. “I’ve done everything they said … and they won’t remove the order,” he explained. “I let Karine see the kids … There was an order on there that Karine could only see the kids supervised. I let Karine see the kids unsupervised, therefore I violated the court orders.”
Paul and Karine first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, where they documented their love and Karine’s relocation to the United States. The couple’s custody battle began after it was reported that Paul had left the state with their son, Pierre, and was missing. On July 1, Paul informed fans on his Instagram Stories that his parents had been denied custody of their children. “If two parents have their kids taken, the grandparents or [a] relative should be allowed to have temporary custody. To ban the grandparents from the children as well as the natural parents is very sad,” he wrote. On July 2, CPS confirmed they had taken the children.
