Wendy Williams Arrived Uninvited To Friend’s Home ‘Looking To Party’ Fresh Out Of Rehab!
Wendy Williams was reportedly “looking for people to party with” after a three-month stint in rehab for alcoholism, according to a Radar Online report. The former chat show host has been accused of appearing at a friend’s New York City home “looking to party,” the same day as outlets reported that she had exited rehab.
A photo snapped of the 58-year-old surrounded by four men confirmed that the troubled TV personality attended a gathering on October 19. Sources claimed that her appearance raised concerns within the group.
“Wendy came out totally by herself,” a source said. “She was looking for people to party with.”
The insider said that Wendy didn’t speak about any future business ventures and that her drop-in had nothing to do with reconnecting with friends.
“This wasn’t a situation where Wendy was coming out to catch up with friends,” the tipster clarified.
“Wendy looked crazed and she was clearly there to party,” the concerned friend added. “Once she realized that this wasn’t that kind of scene, she bounced. She came and went in minutes.”
The insider alleged that no one has been taking care of Wendy, who has supposedly been texting people “looking to party.”
“She wants people to hang out with because she’s bored,” the snitch continued. “So, she went through her phone and ended up texting one of the people in the group.”
“No one is looking after her, and she’s not looking after herself. It’s a really sad situation,” the insider concluded.
While friends of the former talk show diva expressed worry—her rep told a different story.
“I think she looks good, doesn’t she!” her rep told The Sun when asked about the strange outing. “Wendy is an adult. Adults go out alone to meet up with friends all the time.”
Wendy checked out of rehab last month, after seeking help for “extreme alcohol abuse.” Her team announced the news in August, but it was later reported that Wendy checked into the Malibu treatment center in July.
“Alcohol has been a real struggle for her over the past several years. She is battling severe alcohol abuse mixed with serious health issues,” a friend of Wendy’s said, at the time.
“There are no other drugs involved,” the source revealed. “She has had numerous doctors who have told her for years ‘If you drink, you’ll die.’ She never really wanted to stop and the people around her in New York have allowed her to keep drinking.”
Wendy was replaced by Sherri Shepherd after sitting out the final season of her popular talk show due to multiple health problems. Rumors of alleged substance abuse issues took off after episodes of bizarre behavior were reported in the press.
