‘RHOP’ RECAP: Candiace Breaks the Fourth Wall to Defend Chris Against ‘Sneaky Link’ Accusations!

Welcome back to a brand-new episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac! The ladies are still at Born 2 Dance studio and Candiace Dillard-Bassett is talking to producer Eric as Gizelle Bryant and the rest of the ladies look dumbfounded. Eric doesn’t know why Candiace is coming to him with that issue and tells Candiace that he can’t control what the ladies say or do. Candiace continues telling Eric that Michael Darby’s available for that and doesn’t understand how Chris Bassett is now the target of the show. Eric continues trying to talk sense into Candiace as she tells Eric to leave the footage included as she exits stage left. Candiace leaves as Dr. Wendy Osefo tells Ashley Darby about meeting Peter Thomas. Charrisse Jackson-Jordan tells Wendy that owning a restaurant is like living there.

Wendy states that Peter will own majority of the restaurant and Ashley wonders if Wendy and Eddie Osefo’s relationship will suffer. Wendy hasn’t filled Eddie in on her plans, yet, so she’ll let us know when she knows. Gizelle approaches Mia Thornton about her unanswered text message and Robyn Dixon suggests Gizelle takes Mia to the side. Ashley thinks Gizelle’s being thrown under the bus and Wendy is giving Mia the benefit of doubt due to a friend of hers passing away. Robyn’s problem is the unanswered questions as Gizelle laughs with Mia about Wendy’s body change. Robyn confronts Wendy about Karen Huger’s event and why Wendy blamed Gizelle and Robyn for questioning Mia’s intentions. 

Meanwhile, Gizelle actually apologized to Mia for her abruptness, and the two hug it out. Robyn continues going for Wendy as Ashley and Charrisse refill their glasses. Wendy claims Robyn called Mia a liar and tells Robyn to stand in her truth. Robyn and Wendy go back and forth as Mia and Gizelle join the melee. Robyn begins walking closer to Wendy and things are about to get real! Charrisse holds Robyn back as Wendy continues telling Robyn to sit down. Ashely wonders if Gizelle and Mia had a good conversation and Mia confirms that her doctor did rule out cancer. 

Mia plans to have surgery later in the year, and Robyn admits to wanting to learn more about Mia but wonders if Mia’s telling the truth. Mia’s son is close in age with Robyn’s son and Robyn invites the ladies’ sons out for a family day. Everyone except Wendy, that is, LOL. Wendy thinks that’s a character flaw in Robyn and Ashley wonders why Candiace stormed out. Robyn and Gizelle claim they didn’t see her as the ladies say their goodbyes. A producer asks Wendy how her relationship with Mia is and Wendy’s caught on camera agreeing that Mia’s a liar. After dance class, Candiace is home chatting with her IVF nurse. Candiace prepares to give herself the first round of IVF and is finalizing her trip into motherhood. Candiace cries and exclaims how scared she is as Candiace completes her mission. Candiace is upset that she has to deal with Gizelle during this time and realized she got too comfortable around Gizelle. 

The next day, Karen and Ray Huger go to the Nail Bar for some manis and pedis. Karen’s getting the dip as Ray gets the basics. Karen continues her story of having a fever and converses with Ray about his day. Ray gives Karen a hard time for indulging in herself and Karen asks Ray if he’s jealous of her newfound beauty. Ray admits that Karen could have eye candy and doesn’t have a problem with this new Karen having eye candy, either. Okay, girl! Later, Ashley is showing her brother Zach a house in Arlington, VA. The listing agent shows the pair around as Ashley envisions her new life without Michael. Ashley’s missing out on homes due to not utilizing a cash offer and unfortunately, Michael has her on a short lease in terms of cash. Ashley has a lot to think about and tells the agent that it depends on what Michael thinks. Ashley tells the listing agent that Michael and her are separating and that the lender and bank are all set. 

Ashley is taken aback and tries not to let Michael’s behavior bother her. Ashley and her brother chat a little bit and Ashley reveals the impact that her failing marriage has on her. Ashley cries as Zach consoles her. Ashley’s afraid of making a mistake, but all she can do is try. Robyn is at home yelling at her kids as she tries to clean up. Robyn’s in a brand-new house and sister-girl has money now! Robyn’s going through files as she calls Juan Dixon to help her go through them. Robyn shows Juan a picture of their wedding in 2005 and Robyn uses this time to bring up the prenup. Juan pretends to be upset at first but then it’s clear he’s just joking. “You gotta do what you gotta do,” Juan says before claiming he makes more money than Robyn, LOL. Juan, however, does inquire why the conversation didn’t come up years ago and in Robyn’s confessional, we find out that a prenup wasn’t necessary because they were both broke when they divorced. 

Robyn doesn’t want things to get ugly and Juan stops Robyn from continuing. Juan is happy for Robyn’s accomplishments and agrees to sign off on each other keeping what they brought in. Robyn tries to explain herself as Juan walks away from her, and it’s clear this conversation isn’t over. Later that day, Wendy visits a doctor’s office for issues related to hair loss and explains how stress is taking a toll on her. Wendy feels signs of inflammation and tenderness, especially at the crown of her head. The doctor explains that stress pulls nutrition away from the follicles because hair isn’t a priority to the body during times of stress. All Dr. Wendy knows is stress, but it’s clear that the stress is killing Wendy! The doctor explains to Wendy some of her options — one of which could make Wendy grow facial hair. Wendy and the doctor have a quick laugh but there’s nothing funny about Wendy’s situation. Poor Wendy! 

We see Mia as she meets Robyn for a drink. After pleasantries and ordering drinks, Robyn thanks Mia for coming and wants to make sure they are good. Mia’s anger was mostly towards Gizelle, and Robyn admits to Mia that Gizelle was dead wrong in her delivery. Robyn does want to know what’s going on and asks Mia straight up what’s happening. Robyn explains her confusion, and Mia states that a lot has happened since those Instagram posts. Robyn wants to know more about the lump and Mia hesitantly tells Robyn that she may have an autoimmune disorder. Robyn wonders if Mia caught what Candiace was upset about and Robyn fills Mia in on the issues between Candiace, Chris, and Gizelle. Mia then has something to add, and I feel like s**t is really about to hit the fan! 

Mia states that at the Spring Fling, Chris was staring her down, but producers rewind the tape and show us Chris looking NOWHERE near Mia! The girls are acting up! Karen is home pouring lemonade into a pitcher as Gizelle graces Karen with her presence. Karen and Gizelle are taking baby steps in their friendship as Gizelle makes herself at home. Gizelle catches Karen up on the dance class and gives Karen a sneak peek. Karen knows Ashley can drop it and Karen brings up what Gizelle told Candiace. Karen thinks Chris may owe Gizelle an apology. Meanwhile, Chris and Candiace have lunch. Candiace tells Chris that her doctor said that her body isn’t responding quickly enough, and now Candiace feels bad for not succeeding. Chris tells Candiace not to stress about it, but Gizelle is making Candiace go off the rails at this point. 

Candiace asks Chris how he feels, and Chris is angry because he doesn’t understand why they’re coming for him. Chris didn’t ask to go to Gizelle’s room and Gizelle’s telling Karen a totally different story. Chris suggested Gizelle leave the door open and Gizelle agreed. So, what’s the issue? Karen asks if Chris touched or did anything, and Gizelle admits that Chris left when she asked him to. Chris states that Gizelle talks about his penis all the time and Karen tells Gizelle that she experienced a similar situation with someone else’s husband. Karen doesn’t tell us who it is. Karen doesn’t think Gizelle should’ve discussed it on camera, and Gizelle throws Robyn under the bus! 

Gizelle says Robyn brought the issues with Chris to the group and before we know it, Robyn joins Chris and Candiace for lunch! Robyn disagrees with Gizelle, and this is now a new era of their friendship. After ordering, Robyn begins by reiterating that Chris responded to Ashley’s story and that Robyn recalled the experience in New Jersey and she didn’t think anything of it. Robyn thinks Chris was only concerned about Candiace, and Chris tries to be friendly with everyone. Chris doesn’t mind giving the ladies hugs and Candiace thinks Gizelle waited to bring it up to her in a way that is indicative of a serious situation. 

Candiace thinks it’s BS because Gizelle had no issue hugging Chris at Karen’s Spring kick-off event. Robyn wants to know why Gizelle is talking about it now, and Gizelle admits that Ashley’s story is what triggered her reaction. Robyn wonders how they fix things from here and Candiace wants Gizelle to walk her statement ALL the way back because Gizelle is dead to Candiace at this point! Gizelle tells Karen that she doesn’t know what happened, but Gizelle didn’t feel right in her gut! Things are just heating up!
