Little People’s Matt Roloff Turning Farm Into Airbnb After Failing to Sell the Property!
Little People, Big World’s Matt Roloff is turning his former family home into an Airbnb!
Matt, 60, told fans the shocking news during a Q&A at his book signing after they asked what was going on with the farm that was up for sale. Matt Roloff revealed that he made the choice to list the home as an Airbnb rental. The ‘Little Lucy Big Race’ author also told fans that the home should have opened weeks ago but it is 26 weeks behind schedule because of delays at the permit office. Matt added that he hopes by the next pumpkin season, the rental will be ready to welcome guests.
A source close to the family said that visitors on the Roloff farms had been told of the news as early as last week. The tour guides shared the special announcement with fans as they took them around the house’s perimeter. There was a huge green sign on the front lawn that read, “Coming Soon, Short Term Rental.” Visitors could see workers going in and out of the house to renovate it. While the family home is getting worked on, Matt’s youngest son, Jacob, and his wife, Isabel, had to move out. The young couple moved into a fifth-wheel camper home on a private property plot of land beside the Roloff farms which is under construction.
“Jacob and Isabel are living on the farm full time. They were renting a place previously and are saving up while on the farm,” A source told The Sun. The source added that the two might also be thinking of turning a bus into their home while Jacob works on the farm. “Jacob and Isabel are living there to save money and help out on the farm. The rest of the family doesn’t mind, as Matt and Caryn get along so well with them.” Another insider said that Jacob doesn’t take his father’s generosity for granted and is always working hard on the farm.
Matt’s youngest son has been busy cutting wood, running the pumpkin farm, and transporting work tools in a farm tractor. When Jacob turned 25 earlier this year, Matt rewarded him for his hard work by gifting him his yellow vintage car. While Matt is getting along well with Jacob, he still has a strained relationship with his other sons, Jeremy and Zach. The two have refused to show up at the farm during pumpkin season which is time farm’s busiest time of the year.
