‘RHOP’ RECAP: Gizelle Claims Chris Made Her Feel ‘100%’ Uncomfortable!

Welcome back to a brand-new episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac! We’re still at Karen Huger’s Spring Fling/Celebration of Life/Taco party, and Mia Thornton just cursed Gizelle Bryant out! Gizelle thinks Mia’s Instagram post was fishing for attention and Mia wasn’t happy with that accusation! While the men talk aimlessly about food, the room is heating up with the women in the center. Mia wants to know what the issue is, and her friend, Jacqueline Blake, comes to her defense. Wendy Osefo, Candiace Dillard-Bassett, and Askale Davis join in on the conversation, and soon everyone’s in the mix. Karen wants to know who Gizelle is to question Mia’s intentions, and Robyn Dixon jumps in to explain everyone had questions surrounding Mia’s post. 

Producers show us speculation from all the women, but of course, Gizelle’s the only one bold enough to face Mia herself. Wendy interjects with Jacqueline’s talking and wants to know who she is. After brief introductions, Mia’s friend verified that she still didn’t know the answer as she awaits the results. Charrisse Jackson Jordan joins the party and seems happy to be there. Charrisse and Karen hug, but it’s clear to see drama brewing underneath the surface. Mia feels like she has a story to tell, and Karen gives Mia a supportive presence before mingling with the other guests. Katie Rost makes a special appearance and grabs a handful of Ray Huger’s butt, SMH. Charrisse asks Karen to lunch and Candiace tells Ashley Darby about freezing her eggs. Wendy is excited about Ashley and Candiace’s friendship and Gizelle’s telling Katie that Ray has a crush on her. 

After Katie gets too frisky with Ray, Karen comes over to save the day before things get too outta control. Candiace tells the ladies that she’s leaving soon for the Grammys, and Karen gives a speech that no one knows the purpose of. The next day, Karen visits her surgeon’s office to check on her breast lift. Candiace is home cooking as her sister Crystal comes by with wine. After some small talk, Crystal inquires about Candiace’s day, and Crystal is amazed by all the work Candiace is doing on top of becoming a mother. Candiace tells Crystal about freezing her eggs and that she plans on being pregnant by the end of the year. 

Candiace is scared of the unknown of having a child but seems excited about the chance of becoming a parent. Candiace still complains about Chris Bassett’s schedule and Crystal wonders how Candiace adjusts to Chris working. Candiace misses her husband and wants to spend more time with him. Let’s hope things change for the better. Ashley’s at home playing with the kids as her friend Deborah stops by with her little one. Ashley chats with Deborah about dropping Dean off at daycare before the two discuss Michael Darby and the upcoming divorce. Ashley reveals that the two aren’t together romantically but still discuss the kids like everything’s normal. Deborah wonders if Michael’s trying to reel Ashley back in but Ashley’s not sure that’s the case. 

Ashley makes Deborah a mimosa while Ashley sips on orange juice. The two toast to Ashley being back in the streets. Deborah wants to know more and thinks Ashley deserves more and hopes it all works out. Ashley admits to not being sad. Deborah wonders if Michael will start dating immediately and Ashley doesn’t have high hopes for Michael. Ashley’s looking forward to dating but currently copes by making TikToks. Dancing has encouraged Ashley to host a high-heel class and she plans to invite everyone, including Candiace. That evening, Gizelle meets Robyn for coffee, and for once, Robyn has a bone to pick with Gizelle. Gizelle plays dumb at first but soon realizes she spoke too much about Robyn’s housing situation. Robyn didn’t need Ashley and Karen knowing that she is the only one on the deed but hopefully Gizelle will learn to keep her mouth closed! 

After Gizelle apologizes, the two move on to Ashley’s situation with Michael, and how Gizelle doesn’t believe her. Robyn hates doubting her friends and feels like the delivery with Mia could’ve been better. Gizelle sends Mia a text apologizing and the two move on to Ashley purchasing a new house. Robyn tells Gizelle how she and Ashley were looking for wallpaper before Ashley revealed that Chris DM’d her, inviting her to the W hotel; Ashley felt a way about it. Although Chris is the manager of a restaurant there, Ashley feels like she needs to say something to Candiace. 

Robyn doesn’t feel like Chris did anything wrong and is giving Chris the benefit of doubt. Robyn understands that Chris only responded to Ashley’s Instagram Story, but Ashley still feels like something’s off. Gizelle admits that Chris slides into her DM, as well, and Robyn wonders why Gizelle thinks Chris is crossing a boundary. Gizelle feels uneasy because of what happened at the reunion and begins to explain that Chris made her feel strange but admits nothing happened. Gizelle says it was late and doesn’t remember everything that happened but is adamant about not wanting to be in a room, alone, with a married man. Robyn doesn’t feel that Chris did anything wrong to Gizelle but of course, Gizelle’s taking it and running with it. 

The next day, Karen comes home from running errands and chats with Ray for a few. Karen tells Ray about her doctor’s appointment, and soon, the two discuss Ray’s disdain for plastic surgery. Ray just doesn’t want his daughter or nieces going under the knife, but Karen knows Ray will get over it, LOL. Across town, Mia, Gordon, and Jacqueline go out to lunch to discuss Karen’s party and Mia’s diagnosis scare. Mia’s excited to open a new chiropractic center and feels stressed with everything on her plate. Jacqueline arrives and Mia claims she’s Gordon’s second wife, SMH. Mia has the results of her biopsy which reveal that she has more testing to undergo. Jacqueline is disgusted by the ladies’ attitudes at Karen’s party and Mia is hurt by Gizelle’s accusation. Jacqueline feels like Karen was playing both sides and now Mia is mad at Karen. 

Mia reveals that Karen texted her to warn her about the ladies’ conversation, and now Mia questions Karen’s loyalty. That evening, Ashley and Candiace meet up for a night out so Ashley can talk to Candiace one on one. After the two sit and order, Ashley begins slowly but eventually tells Candiace about Chris reaching out to her via Instagram. Candiace is giving Ashley the benefit of doubt and doesn’t think Chris meant anything by messaging her. 

Candiace believes that Chris is rebranding his restaurant and wants celebrities to come. Candiace thanks Ashley for bringing her this information. The next day is Ashley’s heel class and Ashley’s excited to show off her moves. Robyn arrives first for once and Gizelle arrives shortly after. Ashley compliments Gizelle’s wig as we find out that Karen’s not coming due to having a fever of 102. Gizelle tells Robyn that Karen is avoiding Charrisse and that she doesn’t know why Karen is leaving Charrisse on read. Ashley wants to know what happened as she tells Gizelle that she’s not drinking at the moment. Robyn makes Ashley and Gizelle have a conversation and Ashley admits that Gizelle felt accusatory in questioning Ashley’s motives. Charrisse dances her way in, and after greeting her, Gizelle and Ashley finish their conversation. 

Gizelle claims to not play with divorce and feels like Ashley isn’t serious about divorcing Michael. Ashley brings up how Gizelle and Jamal Bryant reconciled and Gizelle wonders if Ashley and Michael are back together. Ashley denies being back with Michael but the whole thing does seem suspicious. Ashley admits that Michael hasn’t cheated on her “lately” and that her situation isn’t as hostile as Gizelle’s. Ashley reveals that Michael would help her with the new house since she can’t afford it on her own. Gizelle just wants peace for Ashley and the dance instructor comes out right in time. The girls stretch as Candiace, Wendy, and Mia arrive to join the fun. Ashley looks amazing as she busts her moves, but Robyn looks challenged, LOL. 

After class is complete, Candiace tells Robyn that she isn’t drinking due to IVF. Candiace wants to try naturally but will freeze some of her eggs in case she wants another baby later. Charrisse wonders when Ashley will put out her divorce statement and Ashley reveals that she will put the statement out after she gets approved for her home loan. Gizelle pulls Candiace to the side as Robyn walks away to leave Gizelle to her madness. Gizelle brings up  Chris DMing Ashley before bringing up Chris making Gizelle feel uncomfortable at last year’s reunion. 

Gizelle explains that Chris wanted to speak to her alone and the issue with her glam team being gone. Candiace can already see the BS from a mile away and Gizelle continues. Gizelle mentions Chris saying goodbye to her hairstylist, Kal Blount, indicating that Chris waited on Gizelle to be alone. Candiace looks around and the cameras and says “So this is a thing? Chris is being attacked?” Candiace explains that Chris views the ladies as friends and treats them like sisters. Gizelle claims to not have issues with Chris but Candiace isn’t buying that. Candiace is confused and gets up to leave Gizelle to find her producer, Eric. Gizelle hides a smile as Candiace throws Michael under the bus, and we get the dreadful “To Be Continued.” Make sure to come back next week, for a new episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac!
