‘Married to Medicine’ RECAP: Toya Makes Up with Audra and Anila!

Welcome back to a brand new episode of Married to Medicine! We’re in Blue Ridge, grubbing as Dr. Heavenly Kimes compliments Dr. Eugene Harris’s cooking. The storm seems to be at bay as the group settles down over good food and conversation. Eugene admits that cooking well is a part of his strategy to keep the ladies quiet, and Cecil Whitmore admits that it’s his only strategy, LOL. Heavenly asks Anila Sajja how she’s doing, and Anila’s still traumatized by the recent break-in. Anila feels that her family was targeted and wants to encourage everyone to take a polygraph test. Quad Webb’s “pick me” a** volunteered herself before Anila could finish her sentence. Something about this doesn’t sit right with me. 

Dr. Simone Whitmore wonders what the police are saying as she looks at Quad like she’s crazy. Simone’s confused and asks Quad why she feels the need to take a polygraph, and Quad responds with less than an answer. Quad claims that she would take one to eliminate any suspicions that she knew anything about the break-in, and it’s clear that Quad’s in on this whole “setup.” Toya Bush-Harris isn’t entertaining that conversation and asks Anila why the police want her to take one. Anila claims that it’s to remove the idea that she set her own house up, while simultaneously getting on the ladies for grilling her the other day. Anila felt that the ladies were interrogating her, although they were asking questions that the average person would wonder. 

Anila asks the ladies if any of them think it was a setup and Toya responds with “Girl, I don’t know what you would do. I don’t know you.” Anila is shattered! Anila questions Toya for clarification and it’s clear Toya doesn’t think she ever knew Anila. Quad encourages Anila to keep talking as Toya says “moving on” at the same time. For some reason, Quad gets unnecessarily aggressive with Toya, but Toya plays it cool for the time being. Quad continues talking mess as Dr. Jackie Walters steps in to bring order to the group. Jackie encourages Anila to get her thoughts out, and before you know it, Anila’s asking Toya what happened to their friendship! 

Toya thinks Anila’s on another planet, ’cause ain’t no way Anila forgot everything that happened — already?! Toya looks drained and I feel sorry that these ladies are ganging up on her. Anila continues trying to talk to Toya as Heavenly reads the room and removes Anila before things go bad. Toya continues eating her salad as Anila tells Heavenly that it’s something both ladies have to get through. Dr. Contessa Metcalfe and Dr. Scott Metcalfe arrive and Anila gets jealous that Toya and Simone went out to greet them, SMH. The Metcalfes greet everyone as Contessa makes sure Jackie isn’t working. Scott checks out Eugene’s food as he makes a plate and a beeline for the bed. Cecil suggests the men go downstairs and play pool while the ladies stay upstairs appreciating the snow.

Jackie welcomes Contessa and the ladies to the “Relationship Resuscitation Retreat” and claims that no one’s having any fun until they get their issues out in the open. Quad makes a comment about there being fights and everyone still being there, and Toya quickly joins in to say how that isn’t true. Toya lets it be known that no one wants to be around people that make them feel like they have to defend themselves. Quad gets up to sit next to Toya and Toya continues explaining how she doesn’t get how Audra Curry thought it was okay to chest bump Toya and put her in a position to defend herself. Toya is upset that Audra looked up her information since Audra doesn’t know her!

Simone tries to get Toya to allow Audra to respond and Toya’s good and ready! The men are downstairs having a good ole time playing pool while the women are going through hell upstairs, LOL. Eugene bet the losers to run outside with no coat and the men have a challenge on their hands. Dr. Martin Curry ends up winning, but who really cares? Audra feels like she tried to get to know everyone but the negative comments from Toya threw her off. Audra doesn’t know why it got to that point, and soon, Toya reminisces about her fight with Mariah Huq in season one. 

Toya begins getting emotional as she explains how depressed she was after the altercation because, at the time, she had just had her son and was concerned about how others would view her after such a low point in her life. Toya didn’t want people to think she wasn’t good enough for Eugene and she questioned whether she was good enough as a woman. Toya apologizes to Audra for hurting her and Audra appears to understand and appreciate Toya’s apology. Jackie thanks the ladies for sharing as the fellas finish their pool game and Cecil completes his 10 push-ups. Jackie wants to fix the fractured relationship between Contessa and Heavenly and puts Contessa on the spot. Contessa needs a little fun before she can open up and Simone thinks she has a point. 

Contessa tells Jackie to let it go and the drama is over, for now. The next morning, Cecil’s cooking breakfast while Contessa’s in the gym. Anila’s brushing her teeth as Jackie reviews her room. Heavenly checks in on her kids as Toya helps Eugene in the kitchen. Audra and Martin are in bliss over their pregnancy and finally, Audra’s in a good mood. Jackie wonders what everyone’s doing as the men prepare to venture off on their own. As Audra and Martin check out the pool, Toya and Eugene meet them outside. The rest of the crew soon comes outside as the men go bowling. The men discuss bowling stats as Cecil bets the loser gets a tattoo. After getting their shoes, the men participate in friendly competition and the need to get away for the ladies for a bit. 

Back at the house, Jackie and Simone are setting up a spa day for the ladies! Toya’s preparing her Patron as she inquires what Anila’s drinking and Audra creeps up. Anila becomes emotional as she reminisces about her and Toya’s friendship. Toya’s issue is with Anila bringing her friend, knowing the friend was spreading rumors around the neighborhood. Audra nods in agreement as Toya continues looking for an explanation from Anila. Anila claims she was set up because Quad invited this said friend and Anila was told only the day before Quad’s party.

Toya thinks it’s typical Quad but won’t allow Anila to play the naive role. Toya wants Anila to start looking at the bigger picture and reevaluate who she allows in her circle. Anila’s issue is that she was randomly attacked at Quad’s party and then robbed two days later. Anila doesn’t think Toya had something to do with it and Toya adamantly agrees that she had nothing to do with it. Anila’s more hurt about her friendship with Toya and wants Toya to acknowledge Anila’s hurt. Toya tells Anila how sad she was that she was robbed and how much she cared during those days Anila wasn’t home. Anila cries as she wishes she knew this information beforehand. 

Toya apologizes to Anila and the two hug it out and have a real moment. The fellas are still bowling as Eugene beats everyone. Curtis shades Eugene for winning, claiming that it’s because Eugene is closer to the lanes. The fellas finish by eating pizza and recap the snowball fight the couples had earlier. Dr. Kiran Sajja jumps in on the conversation and expresses his disappointment that some of the ladies thought they orchestrated their own break-in. Kiran wants to squash it all together and Cecil asks about Anila’s post, in which she accused someone of setting her up. Eugene apologizes to Kiran about the situation and confronts Kiran about Toya and Eugene’s name being brought up in the allegations. 

Eugene’s upset because he feels like they’ve never exhibited behavior that would indicate they’re capable of such things. Kiran clears up that he didn’t accuse them of anything and wants to handle the situation like a man. Kiran admits the women are thinking like monsters and thinks it’ll be a great idea to help the women with these steps in moving forward. Eugene wants to continue on this positive journey as Curtis wonders what the tone will be back at the house. 

At the house, the spa is getting set up as Toya chats with Contessa. Toya wants to tell Contessa about Kari Wells but goes and gets a bottle of wine before she starts. Toya’s clumsy self ends up breaking a bunch of dishes and is in shock, LOL. Contessa tells Toya to sit down as Simone and Jackie come to inspect the damage. Dr. Damon Kimes makes it to the house and Heavenly is very happy! The ladies head to Simone’s room to undress and prepare to get pampered. Four ladies get body-wrapped first while the other ladies get a foot rub. Contessa’s excited about getting naked as Toya compliments Contessa on her breast. Simone still thinks Contessa’s breasts are underwhelming but Contessa’s happy, LOL. 

Quad gets impatient and inquires about her services as Contessa and Toya enjoy their massage while trying to reach an orgasm. Heavenly finds out that Anila and Toya made up and is nervous about the success rate with her and Contessa. After Contessa’s massage, she asks Jackie to rub her feet, and Contessa is feeling very frisky while flashing her vagina. Simone takes a picture as Toya and Jackie rub Contessa’s feet simultaneously. The fellas walk in just in time to see Contessa get spoiled and Dr. Damon makes his entrance. Curtis asks Quad if she’s hot under the aluminum foil and of course, Quad feels some type of way in her confessional, SMH. 

That evening, Simone and Jackie plan a beautiful dinner and a surprise for the crew. Simone and Contessa check in on things at home as Heavenly chats with Damon about her issues with Contessa. The crew comes downstairs for dinner, looking good with positive energy in the air! The chef introduces herself as she serves the first course. After the couples cheers, Eugene tells the table that he won bowling as the second course comes out. Curtis gives Eugene props and Kiran brings up that Toya hasn’t given him sex. Toya gave Eugene some today, so he’s all good, but that doesn’t stop Eugene from getting some payback on Toya. 

Eugene tells the table that Toya likes to talk a big “freak” game but he’s the one with the higher sex drive. Eugene shares that he’s had sex in a research lab and a conference room, and Toya begins complaining about the boring sex wives get versus the spontaneity single couples experience. Kiran brings up sleeping with women he knows he’ll never see again versus the woman he’ll see for the rest of his life. As the third course comes out, Toya wonders if Jackie has anything planned for the couples. Jackie has a surprise for the couples after dinner and now everyone’s excited! Simone says that after the trip, everyone will have better communication skills, and claims that she and Cecil are at the top of their communication game, LOL.
